Paypal claims for international items not recieved

Hi All,

I've just experienced my first lost international parcel as a seller.Smiley Sad

My customer wants a refund. I have documentation for lodgement but no signature or tracking is available.

Should I go through the agonies of a paypal claim ? Should I just suck it up and refund from my own pocket and learn the lesson of only tracking and signature parcels? It's about $60.

What's your best advice on handling this one?

Thanks in advance

Fiona

Re: Paypal claims for international items not recieved

Post and missing parcels are always that little more tricky when sent internationally, so tracking and / or signature on delivery are wise as you have discovered - but I think thats just how many of us learn the ropes.

Its a bit difficult to make any further comment without a few more details - most important which country was the parcel sent to ? and what date did you post it ?

Re: Paypal claims for international items not recieved

Thanksso much for your advice.  It's always good to hear from others and about theirexperiences.

I decided to launch an investigation via Aus Post and forward my customer the details. Took ages but I thought it was worth a try. Parcel went to USA. Must remember to use Pack&Track,  not old fossil international registered.

Interesingtly as soon as I did this I received a reply saying the parcel had been delivered a few days prior. Grrrrrrrr,  but good outcome at least.   Smiley Happy

Re: Paypal claims for international items not recieved

When I buy, I make sure that the item is NOT registered with tracking !!!! Why you might ask? Because it takes that long to arrive IF NOT AT ALL which is five times out of ten !!
If its just "ordinary" post, you get the item faster from say the USA to my Post Office in WA ( And EVERY one item arrives ) than it is from Sydney to Perth
