I sold an item and sent with fully insurance, the item is damaged during the postage, the buyer put in a dispute thru Paypal instead of going to post office and put a claim in and now over a mont of dispute Paypal ask me to refund. I am losing out on insurance that i paid for and now I have to refund the money to the buyer?? where is the protection for the seller? when the item is sent the buyer has the same responsible as the seller, put in a claim form to the postage company so both seller and buyer will get thier money back. Thanks

You cannot close your PP account if you want to sell.
You can offer the alternatives but most people are not interested getting Paymate, and offering CC is expensive.

Hi,
I contacted the PP 3 times but some how i can hear the customer service operator but he can't hear me, I gave up.
I just received another email from PP requires me to take the item to get a report from professional source what damaged and how much it cost to the damage,
to get this done I have to pay $100 for this service.
This is sound like, someone can go and buy an item and use it, don't like it, break it or swap it then sent it back as "item not as describe" and still get the money back.
I will try to contact PP later on.
Thank you all for your supports and advices

You can not close your paypal account until 6 months after your last sale.
Even if you could do so, I would not recommend it as paypal could say that there is nothing to sort out as you are not a client of theirs.
If paypal is requesting more information it is in your interest to ring them.
Some time ago I made a claim for Item Not Received...it was over $300 so too much to just let go. The claim was taking ages and the seller enered a "tracking" number which was actually only a Proof of Posting. I emailed paypal about the false tracking number and got an email back requesting more information. I rang them only to find that they were treating me as the seller and wanting more proof that I had posted. I pointed out that I was the buyer, not the seller and got the refund immediately...it was actioned while I was on the phone.
There is no substitute for RINGING paypal...you may save yourself a lot of angst.

Go to the police and get a police report to verify the item you got back has NOT got the serial number of the item you sent.
Take any proof you have with you to get that police report ie the serial number and any printouts about the sale of the item.
Call paypal and they will give you a fax number to fax a copy of the police report to verify you have been scammed by the buyer.
JUST going to the police will NOT get your money back.
Work with paypal not against them and you will be refunded in time when you prove the buyer did not send you the item they purchased but a different one.

Hi,
report to police is the last resource that I will use, as this is my first dispute and i have learnt my lesson.
I just contacted PP and they asked me to take it to post office and put in an insurance claim to get my money back.

Why should AP pay? If you lodge claim with them then you are committing fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮 The AP insurance is for damage they cause, not for the buyer substituting the item.
The buyer is defrauding you, you have to go to police.

Why on earth should Australia Post be responsible for you getting a wrong item back? Did the paypal customer service person understand what you told them?
If you try that you may well find yourself on the wrong end of a Fraud charge. DO NO DO IT!!!
You must report this to the police if you want to get your money back.

I've told you at least a couple of times that you should have already contacted the police, because if you had done, and showed them the original photos of the item, the serial number you say you still have of it, and the item the buyer returned to you, you wouldn't still be stuffing around like an idiot because you have a signed police report in your hand that tells any fool the two items are not one and the same thing, then you could copy it and send to Paypal..
The way you're playing silly buggers over this you deserve to loose your money.
Every day you waste and play the fool moves you one more day closer to loosing the entire case.
Why on earth did you post here to ask advice, but when given sound advice by several people you ignore it and keep on whining about what Paypal is doing wrong?

Australia Post has got nothing to do with any of this, and Paypal is already pissing in your pocket because they don't want to pay for their stuff up.
GET THIS FIXED BETWEEN YOUR EARS ....
PAYPAL DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU!
Just kiss your money goodbye if you're not prepared to stand up for yourself.

I can't believe how many times people have told you what you need to do and yet you just go your merry way doing your own thing.
Don't ask for advice if you don't want to follow what information you are given.
The people here have been more than polite and patient with you.
Suck up the loss which is where you are heading.
