On my recent sale, I organised the shipping label through eBay. The buyer evidently paid $18.50. I cannot see the transaction anywhere. Is that handled internally between ebay and AusPost? Or am I going to be charged on my credit card? If this is the case, then the payout I received is reduced by the $18.50 postage and should be transferred to my credit card because it is not my profit, right? I cannot find any information on how this works. It is not readily apparent to see how much of the total sale including postage has been taken by eBay.

You should be able to see a breakdown of all fees and charges.

If the buyer paid for postage of $18.50, that money was included in the total transaction paid. You will get credited less fees, which include service charges, GST on those charges AND the cost of the postage label you purchased from eBay.
Postage is not free - the buyer pays you and you pay the postage provider (in this case eBay) from that amount.
