Australian post times are ridiculous.Took 16 days for an item to get from Brisbane to Sydney.25 days to get a pack from Brisbane to Perth.5 days to get to a suburb 30 mins from me.Whats wrong with Australian post. They are getting worse.Meanwhile Ebay are telling me my postage times are slow.Cant win

You need a lodgement receipt to prove you posted within your handling time. If you don't have one of those eBay doesn't know (or care) when you posted it, just that it arrived after the estimated delivery date (which is set by AP, not eBay)

I have a parcel coming from Kingsgrove NSW lodged with AP 13 Aug (del date estimated 17-19 Aug). Tracking shows it has been scanned at Granville three times (Tues, Wed, Thurs). Don't know where it is now (I am in country SA). I normally just leave feedback for transactions and ignore all the other stuff so don't know whether the seller will cop a defect or not because clearly it will arrive later than the estimate which is out of the seller's control.

you have a tracking number, a search on the number should show time and date seller posted the item.
if he posted it within his allowed time why should he get a neg for not delivered on time?
i would never blame a seller for something out of his or her control.

That sounds familiar. I had a parcel posted in Port Kembla on Friday 12th August and reached Granville NSW the same night.
By rights I should have received it on Monday 15th but it has gone on a week long journey to South Australia before finally arriving back at Granville last night.
It would appear that Granville is the new Black Hole in Sydney.

now theres an idea, have an inquiry into AP as to why they are going broke, should only take a week to figure out if most of the mail does a round trip of the country that might be why.
perhaps if AP started a system where mail went by the most direct rout they might start making a profit again.

Australia Post delivery service is shocking. I had 6 items all posted within my handling time (which I changed from 3 to 5 days and then to 10 days because of late deliveries and they lost one parcel grrrrrrr and refuse to accept any responsibility for their poor service or in this case non-existent service.
complained to Australia Post on their FB page, all you get is some half baked generic response followed up with a smart ar$e comment about using express post "delivery times are estimates only, if you wanted the item delivered quicker you should have used Express Post"
I replied with why does one parcel take 3 days from Vic to NSW yet a LOCAL delivery (10 mins away) take 8 days...... Again the same generic response!
