Tazz, I'm with Lyndal - I've never seen what courier a seller uses either
I'd never buy from someone using Fastway if I know in advance

Ah, I see. Then please allow me to offer the following evidence of its occurance - the following two items are those I mentioned earlier:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123838886779
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/292681247748
Inspecting the 'Postage and payments' tab wil reveal their choice of carriers.

StarTrack is part of Australia Post therefore, if a seller is using AP, they would be able to identify StarTrack as the carrier.
If a seller is dealing directly with a courier they may be able to identify the courier at time of listing. However they may use different companies dependent on the size of the order. I have purchased from sellers who use AP for small items but Toll for larger items/orders.
If a seller is using a broker such as Sendle I don't believe they are able to nominate the courier. The final courier chosen by Sendle would be determined by a number of factors including destination which can't be known at the time of listing

Sorry Tazz, but the first item doesn't list a carrier - just standard postage

Nope, no mention of Startrack on the first link....just Express Post.

When I list, I have a drop-down menu displaying a list of shipping options, including multiple courier companies. The selected options will be shown under the 'Postage and payments' tab when using the default eBay layout. I see options for DHL, Fastway, Star Track, TNT, Toll, the generic 'Courier', Sendle, Couriers Please, Officeworks Mailman, Coles Delivery, and of course good ol' Australia Post.
And no, Star Track Express is not the same as AP despite being part of Aus Post. They're seperate services.
Regardless, several other users were making the point that they never see specific courier services namde in the listings they view. I'm providing the counterpoint that it's not all that uncommon in the items I browse, and that two purchases I made recently did actually name the service.

I see the same as Stawks....no mention of StarTrack anywhere.
