.....as you both appear to know the ins and outs of eBays Site Map, T&C's, etc., can you please help me out here.
I am trying to close an eBay account. There is no money owing, I've transferred all unsold listings elsewhere, so the ID has nothing there.
I ACTUALLY READ about closing an eBay account, and clicked on the little blue link 'Close your Account' > Request to Close your Account - which only took me to Customer Support. <To help us connect you with the right Agent , blah, blah - and all the Selling options. But there is nothing within those options about closing an account.
Is there something I'm missing, or do I actually have to contact CS to organize this? I figured it'd be quicker to get an answer from one of you than have to ring CS!!
BTW, I understand that an account is not immediately closed, however, I do want to get the wheels in motion.
Your assistance to get me out of here will be greatly appreciated.

I went into Account Settings and there was a close your account link. I clicked on that, which like you, took me to the help page. I clicked on close your account in that, which took me to the Customer Service page. When I tried to click on any of the options (buying, selling, account), it told me there was no customer service available at the moment and to try again later!

Your link was the correct one - just didn't work from here.
I have now successfully closed the account that I wanted to.
Kudo's to each and every one of you for helping out here. Foxette, once I went to CS I typed in 'Close my Account' - the rest was simple. Agreed about the blah, blah. Gee there must be a backlog of people closing accounts - 180 days to finalise. It'd be nice if they took that long to take their FVF's, send invoices etc. LOL
Apologies if anyone was put out by my addressing my question to DG and PJ - just that they are always the first to jump in with Site Map T&C's, etc, so figured they would give me a quick fix to my problem. Obviously PJ is still asleep OS...!!!

So I really wasn't just being a doofus. The links as such do not work.
However, as you will have read, Foxette was able to resolve the problem for me. One ID down, two to go.

I'm not prepared to be the puppet at the end of eBay's strings any longer.
As you are aware I sell pottery. I send something, gets to where it should in one piece. Glowing feedback re packaging etc. A couple of months down the track, that piece of pottery is knocked off the coffee table or wherever. The item is definitely not as described any more.
I do not intend to have the proverbial s-fight with eBay to defend my position.
IMO my buyers wouldn't go down that track - but I have no intention of leaving my rear end exposed in case one did.
I believe that eBay have made a serious error in imposing this new policy. As I said on another thread a short time ago : One thing that hasn't been picked up on (at least I don't think it has).
With eBay issuing its ultimatum via its Money Back Guarantee Policy, that the buyer can keep their goods and get a refund for item AND POSTAGE from the seller - but the seller hasn't banked the postage in their account - it's been paid over to Aust Post/courier.
So eBay in its 'wisdom' ensures that the seller loses a lot more than they sold. Item worth (say) $50.00. Postage (say) $15.00. Seller is out of pocket the item, the sale amount of the item, plus another $15.00 on top of that. And of course, the FVF's and PayPal fees the seller has also incurred.
It certainly will be pretty expensive to sell on eBay come November.
Tell me, who, of all the small sellers, store owners, all the honest sellers on eBay, can afford to have that sort of axe having over their heads. That's a definite not me!!!

I hear you can get watering cans cheap on that well known online auction site. EBay I think it's called. Get 'em cheap from China for only 2 dollar. Yep! 2 dollar. With flee postage! You heard it right here!!

It's tempting.... but for that kind of money, I want to know exactly how far apart the holes in the spout are (I need a very specific kind of flow, and it must be consistent). Also, does it come filled with water, and if so is it hard or soft? I think my grass would prefer soft water because it's still quite green and inexperienced, and if I hit it with hard water it might get all crushed and unhappy.
