I received a stupid offer for one of my items, then it was retracted before i even saw it. eBay message says I can see the reason for the retraction by looking at "history" on the original listing. I can't find this anywhere can anyone help?
Also, the person who made the stupid offer then retracted, is now on my blocked list. My reasoning, is this... ridiculous offer and erratic behaviour, likely to cause problems if they did end up buying it. What do others think?? My family tell me I have done the right thing in blocking her.

When I was 25 I broke an ankle and was in hospital and one day one of the nurses said, "I'm going to Italy to look for a man." We all looked at her a bit strangely and she said, "Well, there's got to be some Aussie men there". The town I lived in at the time had a LOT of Italians, Greeks and Albanians.

I don't know, I could only get her user name, anyhow the user name was all I needed to block her (presuming it was a female). I am too busy to be bothered with people who don't even know their own mind from one minute to the next, and I don't like being mucked about, this is why I blocked her. I don't generally block people just for making a stupid offer, as I guess some sellers will sell to them, and I can't blame them for trying, although I wouldn't do it. I blocked her for the retraction, which means she didn't know what she wanted, and should have thought about it before acting. This indicates to me that maybe if she did end up buying, even for the correct price, she then may decide she didn't like it or want it after all and therefore cause me problems.

It is annoying, for sure. We have a very firm but inoffensive standard letter to reply with on unreasonable offers. As much as weโd love to impress upon some buyers the ludicrous nature of their offers, weโve found quite a few either buy anyway, or buy some other less expensive item. Weโve not had any issues with them, yet. I think they just try it on. Iโm sure in some cases they do alright.
Another thing that seems to be on the up and up just lately is retracted or cancelled bids. Not sure what thatโs all about, itโs just lately.
With all the changes lately, and blatant disregard for sellers, outright neglect even, or could it go so far as vengeance, it just makes common sense that a certain element of buyers are going to play even harder as the sun shines brighter for them. Where, how and what it will look like in the end I donโt know, but Iโm absolutely sure it will end, badly. None of it bodes well for sellers.
Just from a pure โgood business managementโ viewpoint you really must question eBay agenda and wonder what their current and future modelling looks like.
Melina.
