Hello. I would just like some imput on a siuation I have with a buyer.
I sell tools and the buyer bought a set of extension bars off me.
I posted a set to him but I noticed a few days later that I had sent him the wrong set and let message him that when he received them I would pay for the postage for him to return them.
He said that he hadn't recieved it.
I checked the tracking and it said delivered, so I asked him to check for them,
I then put in an investigation to Aust Post and it took them a week but they said it was delivered to his door.
I messaged him with this and next day he said that he had found it .
My opionion but funny how it took 7 days to find it on the front porch.
Anyhow he said that he would post it back and I had posted the
correct item to him.
When he received it he said that I had left out the universal, which I am sure was there,
I will not repeat what was written in the message but he was not happy , but since I had made a mistake in the first place , I refunded all his money plus postage said he could keep the item and sent via express the only new universal I had which was a different brand but just as good a quality.
Now he is saying that the universal is not the same brand.
Yes I am only human and sent the wrong item in the first place but refunding him all his money and posting him the one he bought I though was pretty fair .

IMO, there's nothing more you can (or should) do. The buyer now has a free item - albeit through a little inconvenience in having to wait a little longer and go to the effort of having to post back the incorrect item. Personally, as a buyer, that would exceed my expectations.
All you can do now is send a message stating something along the lines that you can appreciate and understand the frustration your error caused, but having refunded all of their money, sent the correct item and a replacement for the missing item (perhaps mention that it was the only brand new one that you could replace it with, and is of comparable quality), you have done as much as you can to ensure they got the item they ordered with as little inconvenience and expense to them as possible.
I hope you did get the original item back?
On a side note, if it bothers them that much (and, not being privy to the message they sent, I've no idea if they were upset, or just querying the item), but perhaps they could take their full refund and buy a replacement universal of the same brand. ;\

Stop giving things away. How can you be sure he has told you the truth ? I smell a scammer.

I can't believe that I'm actualy reading this.
So you gave buyer a full set of tools minus 1,full refund & sent allegedly missing tool via express post at no additional cost AND without buyer having to return anything ? :O:O:O

Hey Foxy - yep, sometimes it is what a seller does to avoid the dreaded neg, and to keep a customer happy. OP - learn from this, and add them direcly to your BBL (that's what I do)

Yes Carly and Kopes - didn't want to say - but my eyes blurred over there, and I only had one glass of wine with dinner 😉
Some fonts look pretty, till you try to read a letter using them

I managed to read it without problems but that's only because I'm wearing my new 'you beaut' 'go go Gadget' multi focal spectacles with graduated lenses - they're brilliant! 😄
It never ceases to amaze me what technological marvels are available for us old folk nowadays 😉
