See Discounts Gone

Half heads-up and half-vent post, as I was quite annoyed today to discover that both the See Discounts and See More Services links have disappeared from the payments and postage section on listings, and the information is now displayed if you click to the P & P tab. 

I received an inquiry about combined postage on multiple quantities of the same item, which I thought was a little weird as the discounts link made it quite clear I offered them, and then displayed quite that each additional item was free... Only now it doesn't, unless buyers click See more details and happen to spot the information. 

It didn't cause any cosmetic improvement to listings to remove those links, and all but hides relevant information, yet if you do click on see all details, there's now a bunch of links to conduct searches for other, similar items. 

I'll be adding the info to the description somewhere (unless the links come back, I guess), but it's kinda irksome, and less convenient all round for buyers and sellers. >_>

I'm not sure buyers read the postage discount info anyway. We have some listings (on another ID) with a postage rule in place where all further purchases of a similar item are free post. The info is also very clearly stated in bold red text in the listing but we still get requests for shipping quotes and invoices.

Maybe it's yet another change to suit buyers using mobile devices. I noticed recently on the iPhone that listings with Best Offer don't show the Best Offer text in search results. A bit pointless if you've got to click on the listing to see that the seller is open to offers.

This change will make them less likely to, though. It may have just been coincidence, but this is the first time since I set up my postage discounts over a year ago I have had such an enquiry. 

I'm not in an astounded rage about it, of course, but I still find it an annoying, less functional and pointless change. :^O
