l recently bought an item and was sent the wrong item, and seems the seller is doing this alot, plus their previous id did the same thing l found after some hunting., l have written to Ebay notifying them of this seller and the threatening email, but l worry about people like this, l suppose its like walking on a tree branch, oneday it will break.
Ebay automatically refunded me for the purchase when l notified them of the wrong item,
The seller sent me a private Paypal request for the amount of $14.00
l cancelled the request.
The the seller sent me this...no other message just the subject line of
Expect a hairy debt collector

Ask the seller to send you the postage cost in order to send the wrong item back. If they say they will refund postage on return of the item, politely state that due to the emails they have sent you want postage upfront. Whilst the seller sounds like a bit of a goose, if you were refunded you should send the item back.

As well as informing eBay, it might be a good idea to make a report at your local police station. Usually threats like this are just hot air and nothing comes of them.
Also put them on your BBL to stop any retaliatory neg feedback.

I wouldn't be too worried.
Nobody is going to pay a debt collector, hairy or not, to collect $14.
As was said just report the message to ebay so its recorded.
And just in case they should try to make a retaliatory purchase from you as suggested by Padi put them on your blocked buyer list.

Yes l have reported to Ebay, and blocked them and their alias ID, goodness knows now l wonder about any other alais they have.
The police have been notified. Things like this just make me wake up to the potential of bad folks. They live in WA and l am in Qld, he'd have to be really keen to collect on 14 $

did you return the item? Did the seller indicate that they wanted the item back? Did you let the seller know you would return it if they paid for return postage?
As it reads now, you got an item (albeit an item you did not buy), and you got a full refund via eBay.
