Hi eBay Support,
I believe I may have encountered a phishing attempt while setting up my seller payouts.
I was directed to a page that asked for bank customer ID, password, and security/token codes via a Trustly connection. This does not seem consistent with normal eBay payout setup, which I understand should only require basic bank details (BSB and account number).
Can you please confirm whether this request is legitimate and review the account or link involved?
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,

this is not ebay support - you need to contact them directly

Hi, you are not talking to eBay, just members like yourself. Go to HELP (top of page) and type in Getting Paid

Trustly is safe to use.
But if you can see an option "my bank is not listed", even if it is, you should be able to add your bank account details manually

Thank you for the clarification.
I was able to locate the option to enter my bank details manually, which I have now used instead (only asking for your account number and BSB number).
However, I do want to provide some feedback on the Trustly flow for the security team’s consideration. Even though Trustly may be a legitimate service, the current user experience is quite concerning from a fraud-prevention standpoint.
In my case, my bank (Suncorp) was listed, and naturally I selected it. This then led to a login-style screen requesting my internet banking customer ID, password, and security token. From a user perspective, this closely resembles a standard banking login, which could easily lead less cautious users to enter their full banking credentials.
I did not proceed with that option, but I believe this flow could unintentionally expose users to phishing risk or confusion, even if the underlying service is legitimate.
It may be worth reviewing how clearly the manual bank entry option is presented and whether the Trustly login flow can be better distinguished from actual bank authentication pages.
Thanks again for your help.
Kind regards,

Thanks! I understand this is a member forum.
The issue I’m running into is specifically the “Getting paid” / payout setup process during seller onboarding. I’m trying to confirm the correct and safe way to set this up, as I was initially prompted through a Trustly flow that asked for full banking login details (which seemed unusual and raised security concerns).
I’ve since found the manual bank entry option and used that, but I’m still trying to properly understand where official support from eBay is for clarification on the payout setup process and what the correct secure flow should look like.
I’ve already contacted eBay support directly as well, but I appreciate the suggestion to check the Help section.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply — appreciated.
