Unfortunately there is that point where a seller is not big enough to justify a store but doing too well to continue getting freebies on here.
I liken it to working from home and then reaching that point where you need to consider renting seperate premises. Or working for yourself and then reaching a point where you have to pay employees to do some of your work for you. Give them enough hours and you pay Super as well. Lets not forget Workers Comp.
The reality is Small Business struggles whether it is online or B&M.
Each step brings new expenses like paying GST when turnover reaches $75,000.00 or Payroll tax when the payroll exceeds your state threshold.
The more you grow the more additional expenses you are likely to face in any business.

Bigger Band M = buying stuff cheaper as your buying power increases in the real world.
The best you can say is on offer is a pat on the back ? well done?.In the realworld it means promotion more money or as your buying power increases cheaper items of wholsalers.
Any of you powersellers willing to buy your stock at the same rate as a beginer seller? No you expect to buy cheapier from your wholesalers.
because you have the buying power.
The same should apply to ebay more sales a better rate on list fees etc.
Please no more blind ebay rhetoric.
I have nothing against ebay as it is a great way to sell.
But what i and many take exception is the blind rubbish push about how good being a power seller is.

I never said being a Power Seller was good, or that there were any really notable benefits. My whole point is centred around the fact that the name Power Seller carries connotations of benefits because of how the program used to be structured.
It doesn't mean the same thing any more, and IMO eBay would have been a lot better of scrapping the Power Seller name all together and calling the 100 sales / $3k a year something different so that people had an immediate grasp of what it means now.

What I do get as a business is free samples and additional discounts on the first order of almost every new model appliance that we sell .... the suppliers do this to encourage us to add it to our range. As long as there is a profit to be made I don't stop ordering the machine just because I no longer get the additional discount.
On eBay, as your business grows you would sign up for a store, and later maybe an anchor store. Your listing and FVF are significantly less.
So as I tried to point out earlier, in ALL business growth there will be steps where you make less profit for more effort and a smart business person either takes it to its full potential or realises that they should downsize.

digital i see your point and understand it fully ,but do you see mine?

austeam you get a discount and free samples I reckon i could not get that unless i sell quanities.so buying more entitles you to more then the one off sellers. So there is an advantage in the real world. none here

I certainly do - Power Seller status is touted as an achievement, something to strive for, but the reality for casual sellers is that when it is reached, the primary result is that a benefit is taken away, so I do understand how / why people who find themselves as a PS feel a little slighted.
There are a few benefits, though, at least for anyone listing frequently or more as a hobby business anyway - you can achieve TRS status, which may or may not help sales, but you also have increased functionality with listings. If a member isn't registered as a business or doesn't have a store, PS status means you can use multi-quantity and variant listing formats. I know that's unlikely to benefit the casual seller of one-off items, but it's something. ;\

Have you looked at the fees for the stores?
Insertion fee is considerably less and so too is FVF, so while you don't get a discount for being a PowerSeller (a program that apparently is soon to be retired) you will get a discount if you sign up for a store.
You no longer see the PowerSeller logo on any listings and the only "advantage" is that you have access to the dedicated board.

hello Digital at least i can get a level headed response from you to my questions and not same rhrtoric i see on here. i understand your thoughts .Just it would be nicer if ebay offered more benifits for getting to a powersellers level.
