What a debacle after selling many many items. A buyer purchased tickets to Future Music Festival in Syd. He lives in Melb. I live on Gold Coast.
Somehow I posted him Bne tickets ( concert in Bne on on this Sat 2/ March) - I really don't know how I did. Don't even know that I did. This was on the 15 Feb.
Last night he send me a message saying he only just opened them and they are for Brisbane. I said I would refund his money - which I did immediately through Paypal and met his request of an extra 20 towards the extra cost of 40 for more tickets.
I asked him to express post the tickets back immediately today so I egt them by Fri and can hopefuly sell them for the Brisbane concert on this Saturday.
Problem is Syd concert is nearly a sell out now and tickets are becoming more expensive. he has sent a number of threatening texts saying it is my duty to buy him Syd tickets as that is what he purchased from me. I sort of said that if he had of checked the tickets when he first recived them two weeks ago this would not be an issue now.
I have said if he sends the tickets express...I will directly deopsit extra moeny in his account to cover the express postage and $20 extra towards the new tickets as he initially asked me to meet him halfway.
He is also doubting I have revered his Paypal transaction and is considering not returning Bris tickets to me.
Any advice of feedback from more expereinced sellers would be appreicated.
If he bought an expensive vase and in broke it transit...I woud refund the cost...but it would not be my resposiblity to find him an equally priced cheap vase.

Stop beating yourself up.
We all make mistakes sometimes. We are but human.
The value of our worth is how we go about rectifying them and you have done more than most.
The buyer is being very unreasonable and I think they are now trying to see how far they can push you because you have been so accomodating (give an inch and they take a mile kinda thing)
Do nothing else until the tickets are returned. If they contact you again tell them that until you receive the tickets, you can do nothing else for them.
Assure them you will live up to your word, but that you will not be strung along or ripped off.
Sleep soundly in the knowledge that you have conducted yourself fairly and consider the $250 (if you do end up losing it) as a lesson learned ๐

He is now furious and sending texts stating that the Paypal refund is not showing in his account. If he does not return them by noon. I will not get them back in time.

I would ignore him. I know you want the tickets back, and you will lose money if you don't get them, but the chance of this dude doing the right thing anyway I think is minimal. Also, Express Post can't be relied upon ATM with all the road closures etc,
He is starting to sound a little deranged. Leave it be or demand a photo of the tickets.

As you have sent proof of the refund and he can see it has been done his end as well it is not your problem if he does not know where to see the refund.
As advised photos of the tickets as proof would show he is not lying.
I would be wondering if he will use the tickets him self or on sold them and no longer has them to take the photo.
If you can CANCEL the tickets now as you would not get them back by tomorrow now.

Nothing more to add for this transaction,
but for future ones if you do this often then why not record all ticket numbers and take a picture of the ticket and the envelope you are putting them into so if this occurs again you can be confident you are right and then when it happens you can ask for a picture and double check ticket numbers against those issued to you.
Also add a note in the envelope thanking the customer for purchasing from you and to check tickets immediately.
Then you have covered all bases

If he sells tickets too, as the original post states, it's possible even if you *do* get a photograph, it could be his own tickets he's taking a photo of.
Personally, I would write this one off, and cease communicating with him.
If he keeps harassing you, call eBay and explain he won't stop. Not sure if they can do anything about that though.

After another 50 nasty texts ( well about 13) ...he is stating he has posted tickets back express.
Will update tomorrow.
So drained progressive texts have been meaner and meaner. I understand he is upset but some of his comments are not even related to the issue at hand.
Paypal has been fabulous they even suggested cancelling the refund until I get tickets back. I forwarded the guys texts to them...I was in tears....they actually felt sorry for me the seller even though I must have made a mistake.
