Something weird happened to word "buy" in my feedback

Just had a look at my feedback and noticed one comment that had the word "buy" in it looked different - the word "buy" was in blue font.

I clicked on - yes I know I should not have but curiosity got the better of me.  A website came up which is a tracking site - FourX or something - can't remember and have deleted it from History.  I have the "WOT" program installed which didn't allow me to go into website and showed website had a very poor reputation so go out quick smart and about to do a virus scan, although pretty sure all is OK.

Has anyody else had this happen - seems very strange indeed!!!

Sure is a lesson - one I'm slowly learning.  Don't click on much these days, but this one made me curious.

Someone who gave you feedback inserted a link into that feedback??

Report them immediately.

Was it the buyer of 2 items, the feedback of one which said the postage was very, very over-priced and then the next item they were happy with you and would "buy" again?

It's not necessarily the buyer, anyone could hack in and do that.  It would be very difficult if at all possible to prove who did it, worth reporting certainly, but I wouldn't accuse anyone specificslly of doing it.

Whoever they are, they're creative....

Re: Something weird happened to word "buy" in my feedback

There is some sort of virus that does this - mostly to firefox users. My father has had the problem. It's more annoying than harmful apparently, but who knows how it will be modified.

There was some discussion about it some time ago - maybe someone knows how to get rid of it.

My Dad swears blind that his anti-virus software and firewall were up to date, but he does have a tendancy to rely on the free ones.

Yep - it wouldn't have been the person who left feedback, but most likely some malware installed on your computer that turns certain words into hotlinks. If the virus scan didn't turn up anything, I suggest using something like Malawarebytes, it's free and will often pick up adware other programs don't.
