Still having problems with Store Categories. Please HELP!!!

I have set up the categories I want. No problem with that at all. So all I have to do now is go to  'Items I'm Selling' in My eBay highlight the item I want to place under a category and click on 'Edit' and it's done. Not for me it ain't 😞  I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong (pulling my hair out).

Okay let's start from the beginning:

I have chosen my categories and these are showing just above my' Items I'm Selling' in My eBay. I created them exactly like this: Category 1 "Size 8" and so on through to the last chosen category. Have I typed this in correctly when I set up my categories?

When I try to move an item into one of my categories  I 'Select' the item (tick the box) and then click on 'Edit' from the menu above my 'Items I'm Selling'. According to instructions my chosen listing should appear magically in its selected category in the lefthand column in my Store. NOT!!! What happens is my listing appears as it would if I have asked to Revise it. Should this be happening? Am I clicking on the right "edit"?  I have searched but can see nothing about setting Store Categories on this page only an option to change the category under which I have listed the item on eBay.

I actually thought it might have been that some of my listings have multiple sizes e.g. Blouse 14/16 so I tried ones that had a straight sizing e.g. Blouse 18 but still no joy.

Can anyone please tell me if I am doing something wrong?

You can list items in 2 store categories, you could have size categories as well type of item, blouses, skirts, dresses etc

You can add or edit categories using Bulk Edit.

Go to your Selling section and either select all or select a group of items that you want to place in the same category.

Click the Edit button at the top.

If you selected All, now select a group of items that you want to place in the same category.

Under the Edit Fields drop down at the top, select Categories.

Next to Store Category select Change to and then find the correct Category.

Repeat for the second Category.

Save

Do you have Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro? The listing appearing at the right is a quick view (and is new), but any changes still have to be saved and submitted. (You can also close the preview if you prefer).

Just in case it helps, when you bulk edit the categories by selecting all the listings you want to change, then, in the edit view, select all listings again and click Edit Fields > Categories. This window pops up, and you only want to change the second two (Store Categories).

Your existing store categories should be in the dropdown menu.

After that's done, click the blue 'Submit Changes' button at the bottom of the screen - it can sometimes take a few minutes for the listings to actually be moved to their new categories if it's worked.

Alternatively, you can revise a listing individually - the store category options are at the top of the page, just under where it shows the eBay category you've selected, and pulling up the dropdown menu should give you the option to select from your store categories.

I appreciate your reply but it does not answer my questions. I have already selected my categories but cannot get my listings to move into them in my store.

I would appreciate it if you would take the time (and I think you in advance) to go through my post again and reply to each of my questions independently.

I would like to, but that's very difficult when I don't know what instructions you're already following - I realise you have outlined the first few steps you're taking (essentially opening the listings to edit them), but I don't know what you're doing after that, when you get to this point: "According to instructions my chosen listing should appear magically in its selected category in the lefthand column in my Store.", so my tips were focussed on what steps I take to edit items into store categories after the first two.

You have listings in your store - 59 that I can see ? all under OTHER

It sometimes takes several hours for listings to be visible in your store if you create, add or edit the categories.

Step 1. click on my ebay, then click on all selling. All your listings will be visible.

Step 2. go down the list and tick each box next the like minded items that will go into the one category. (if you miss some it doesn't matter)

Step 3. Above all the ticks their is an edit button, click on that. It will bring up a new window, wait for the listings to appear.

Step 4. Click on all the tick boxes again. (tip if you click on the very first box it will tick all of them for you)

Step 5. click on the Edit Fields button drop down menu select categories now you will see there are 2 boxes along side store categories they will both display no change.

Step 6. In the first box click the drop down and select Change to a new box will pop up with all your categories just click on the one you want.

Step 7. Press save and close wait for it to do it's thing then click submit changes and I think it will get you to confirm again.

Repeat the whole process untill all your listings are in their categories.

The OTHER category is the one eBay put there when I opened my store. All of the listings I have put in have gone to that category because I can't get my categories to work.
