Today I tried to look at one of my listings by typing the two keywords into an ebay search.
The item is a 'Planet lamp' & I typed in these two words- but my listiing did not appear amongst the 20 others currently listed for sale.
I tried both my laptop & ebay phone app with the same (lack of) result.
Later I was at a friend's house and used his computer and my listing didn't show up either.
I then tried typing 'purple Planet lamp' and voila, the listing appears in the search results.
Can anyone offer an explanation as to why this might be so?
There are 8 watchers on the item (that's been listed for 22 days) so (at least some) people are managing to find the listing
My grievance is that most buyers would probably just type in Planet lamp and I'm wondering if they too would not see my listing.
I usually don't search my items in this way and it makes me wonder how many of my current/previous listings might be similarly affected.

Thanks to those who searched & found my item. I was definitely on eBay.com.au. Al least I know it is showing up for others.May have been a glitch or I was in my own 'lights out' area.

I typed in 'planet lamp' and used best match, cos that's what the numpties
most buyers do.
It came up with 23 listings and yours is # 13

I typed in Planet Lamp and your listing showed up. You weren't by chance looking at the listing from another ebay site as if you were it would not show as you are not offering International Shipping on the listing.

It is written in ebays terms and conditions somewhere that they may not always show your item, even when a buyer uses search words and terms directly related to your item. This is to "enhance" the buyer eperience. Mobile phone buyers dont want to scroll through hundreds of listings, so are often only shown a "selection" of listings, selected by cassini and best match.
How about "enhancing" the sellers experience by showing all listings. Its sellers who pay the bills, not buyers.
