Well tonight I have decided to put down my bat & ball and walk away. Ebay will just have to do without my regular income as they have chosen to let me down.
A buyer not only failed to pay, but ebay have supported them in their malicious untrue feedback, so it seems you do not even have to buy an item to write feedback you can merely claim that you have paid for the item in order to smear a sellers reputation. I have no right of dispute at all and must wear their dirty laundry for 12 months, not this little black duck see ya

You need to open a non payer dispute and 4 days late close it and the feedback should go.
If it does not then call ebay and they will remove it when they can see the dispute has closed as a non payer

I did that initially then felt sorry for them got the usual ill kids excuse, so opted to cancel they refused, marked their item as paid and left their nasty feedback, ebay refuse to remove it, due to my own stupid compassion I get to have my reputation smeared, easier to walk away

You can unmark as payment received and call ebay and they will read the messages between you.
Keep calling and eventually you will one that will remove it.

Calmer feedback follow up rather than a string of abuse left by you would have been better.

You also breached ebay policy by leaving a positive with a negative comment for that member which is why ebay have removed it.You'll now find that impacts on your compliance rating.

If you have messages between yourself and the buyer through the eBay message system where the buyer has indicated they want to cancel the transaction then you need to call eBay and ask them to read through the messages and remove the feedback as the buyer hasn't paid.
If they won't remove the feedback and you can prove that you did communicate with the buyer you can lodge a defamation form stating that the feedback is false and defamatory.

Jacleo, I've done the whole mutual cancellation thing before in the early days where the buyer didn't even respond. You were unlucky that you got a neg for trying to be nice.
Do what foxette suggests and keep calling eBay and try to show them that the buyer didn't want to pay (if that is the case) and that you were just trying to do the right thing with the cancellation. You may even want to apologise for your (now removed) feedback that was left and all of that. I'm sure you'll eventually get it removed.
