Hey there just sarted selling with ebay and I have just notice that my fees seem unusally high . I have done $1,073 in sales and fees have accounted for $217.12 (%20.20). Warrentred all my listings have %3.9 advertisment fee, but the final valuation fee is $171.11 (%15.9). I have cheched the ebay fees per catagory and non of the fees seem to be this high. My catagory is (Video Games & Consoles > Video Game Merchandise)
Any idea or advice?

@rblxsuperstore wrote:Yes but my catagory fall into Teir 1 (Video Games & Consoles) so the fees should be 8.03%? correct
Sub categories count.
You are correct for selling consoles subcategory 139971 Teir 1 Applicable 8.03% (+33c)
Your sub category Video Games Merchandise 38583 Teir 4 Applicable 13.09% (+ 33c)

Well i have payed no transaction fees yet as I have credit so this should not contribute right?
And if its GST that might be the contributing factor how do I see me GST percentage and view that infomation?

Your sales are classified as Teir 4 13.09% +33c GST included.
For low value sales, 33c can make a big difference when trying to calculate a total FVF.
For example, your $5 sales 13.09% of $5.00 = 65c
+33c = 98c (98c = 19.6% of $5.00)

I am a seller/buyer since 2008 and I am afraid eBay fees (including on shipping values) are getting out of hand. I think I am at the point where Facebook Marketplace may have to be my selling platform.
To support the ludicrous eBay fees camera sellers today have ramped up their prices where it is actually cheaper to purchase new with Australian warranty at a bricks and mortar store.
Cheap Chinese **bleep** that may turn up and no customer service = Ebay unfortunately.
Holding of payments is the other issue, I sold a camera that was sent to the USA from Australia, eBay advise that they are with holding payment until a week after the camera is received, or approximately 4 weeks, what a scam! I have 1664 feedback with no negative and still can't be trusted.

Of course you money is on hold, eBay sees you as a "new seller" since your last feedback as a seller was over a year ago. Something you agreed to in the T&C's when you listed your items..................

Is there a reason why bumped a 2yo thread?
Holding of payments isn't an issue at all. You know about any holds before listing.
It's eBay's sandpit, and if you want to play in it, you need to abide by their rules. If you don't like the rules, then find yourself another sandpit to play in - simples

As padi said, you are considered a new/intermittent seller. Information readily available to you when , or even before, you listed. Your choice to start selling again without checking out current rules; your choice to sell internationally. I doubt you will get many overseas buyers on Marketplace but go for it.
Half your feedback is as a buyer, where you can't receive negative feedback, so your 661 seller feedback is the relevant metric.
And this relates to eBay fees, the topic of this thread that you bumped, how?

Feedback as a buyer does not count, only feedback as a seller. so your 'total' feedback is moot
Your last feedback was 'more than a year ago' and no other recent sales
You are aware of the fees before listing
Why exactly do you believe the holds that apply to all new sellers and seller who have not sold in some time should not actually apply to you?
That in itself is not a scam, it is what you agreed to
BUT I do hope the buyer is not a scammer
Especially given you lack of any recent seller experience, selling an expensive item overseas and displaying you do not know selling basics
