Hi everyone and Happy New Year. I need urgent help.
I got today my first dispute. I sold an item to USA, sent the parcel 11 Dec registered post.
Today the buyer open a dispute, stating that he email me and he tried to contact me (this is a lie, never got an email or any other type of communication from him) and he didn't got the item.
I responded to Ebay with the registration # but Paypal put the money on hold. My question is what more to do? do I need to talk with Paypal? Please help me to deal with it.
Thank you all
Di

Hi Di
If you have sent the parcel by Registered Post, contact Australia Post, give them the Registered Number & ask them if the item has been received, they will be able to trace it.
If item hasn't been received, ask Australia Post to find out where it is.
If it has been received, contact PayPal about the matter.

They put the money on hold until the dispute is sorted; that is routine. To CALL PP log into your PP account and on the top on the right(?) is HELP link and from there you can find contact number. They are great, I never had problem dealing with them. So take deep breath and as long as you sent the item in way that gives you PP protection, it should be right. Do NOT email them, all you will get automatic reply.

You do not need to call AP; go to AP tracking site http://auspost.com.au/track/ just put the tracking number in and see what shows.

As the parcel has been sent to the US via registered post if you log into the USPS tracking site that should show the status of the parcel. You will not be able to track it on the Australia Post site.
There is a huge backlog of parcels waiting to be processed in the US at the moment for parcels sent from late November onwards and at this stage they have no idea how long it is going to take for them to clear the backlog.

If it is an ebay dispute, not a Paypal one as it will be if the buyer purchased through the US site then it is the ebay seller/buyer protection that applies, if you cannot track the parcel then neither can ebay. You may have to jump through a few more hoops than you would with a Paypal dispute as you have to have proof of delivery, not just proof of posting.
A better option for postage to the US is pack & track.

Maybe, like what happens over here, the notice has gone missing.
I would enter in the dispute console the information from the USPS tracking site and also email the buyer with that information.
