Just a warning to all ebay sellers to be extremely careful dealing with buyers who hide their feedback comments.
i have had nothing but trouble with users who have done this to their account, what do they have to hide?.
have they created disputes with other sellers as well?, no one knows because you can not read the comments other people have left!.
i don't know why ebay even lets users do this.

"No bids by Private feedback members" in your description but I don't know how enforcable that would be.
It isn't enforceable at all. The seller is just leaving themselves open for a few negs if they expect they can cancel a transaction because the buyer has private feedback

There are many people with private feedback. Some just dont like other rival buyers to know what they are bidding on. Nothing sinister and no reason whatsover to try and block them.

*checks out what stuff_unearthed has for sale*
*places a few bids*
*puts everything else on BIN so I can snipe it at the last second*

oops - BIN = watchlist - apologies....

I agree why would you hide feedback unless it's negative.

How can a BUYER have negative feedback ??
And its not 'hiding' feedback, its making a choice of public or private which is allowed by ebay.

There are lots of good reasons why bidder hide their feedback and sellers would be crazy to try and arbitrarily exclude them from bidding.

Buyers can not get negative feedback and sellers cannot sell if they have Private feedback so there goes your theory merrilee.

Because this is my posting ID and I don't want everyone to know what I buy. (If I accidentally forget to change to my "anonymous to most people" - buying ID) or what I sell.
There are lots of stories where people's auctions have been interfered with - so to circumvent this, I use seperate posting, buying and selling ID's. (just sometimes I forget to swap out of my posting ID to bid or buy something).
There have also been instances where other posters have gone through a person's purchases to and made derrogatory comments about them.
I think I have something like 33 feedback on this account - they're all positive BTW - and if I do win something on this account, I do notify the seller of my buying account so that they can check out my legitimacy.
I did have one issue with a purchase from this account and I did offer the seller to make my feedback public for at certain time of mutual convenience so that they could reassure themselves that I wasn't causing trouble.

Ditto! Well said and your reasons are exactly why I have this ID which has private feedback. Incidentally I am still 100% positive on my selling account too (and long may it continue!) so not all private feedbackers are trouble, although it only takes a few to give that impression...
