Weekend Final value Fee $1 entered and still paid FULL FEES

This Saturday 12/01/2019  I received an email from eBay which read "Robert sell this weekend and only pay $1 Final Value Fee" or words to that effect. I do not know the exact wording because strangely I cannot find ANY eBay promotion emails (of which there has been a number over the past two months) on my computer AND also in my messages when I log in to my eBay account.

This is very strange as I very rarely delete emails on my computer. Microsoft Outlook for Macintosh

At any rate I clicked on the "take this offer' button and sold today SUNDAY a $533 computer and low and behold I have been charged $58 Final Value Fees.

Can anybody explain what is going on. How come their promotion emais have been deleted from my computer AND in my account?

How come I have been charged FULL FINAL VALUE FEES.on this last sale?

I am starting to think that eBay is a SHAM

Note: This is my second postong on the same subject.

Your best course is probably to contact eBay CS and politely explain what has happened.

Have all your evidence ready to quote, and if you need to repeat the information several times, do so - but very politely. Make it clear with the utmost courtesy that you listed on the basis of the offer that you accepted.

eBay's "Have us call you" option is by far the best way to get in touch with eBay. (Emails are useless, for a number of reasons, but primarily because the responses, when they are finally sent, are bot-generated.)

eBay say: We'll call you at the phone number registered to your account, or you can enter a different number.

We’re available from 8am to 10pm AET, 7 days a week.

Read the Terms & Conditions.

The Promo relates to items you list for sale during the promo period,  The item dose not have to sell on the weekend.

Your PC sold on  13/1  but  was a 10 day auction, so it was not listed during this weekend promo or even last weekends.

The  weekend promos, would have to be one of the best ebay deals going and it is not hard to comply with the T&Cs

Was the Offer in eBay or just via an eMail? If it just came by eMail then the rule is to "never click on links in emails" It could be a scam.

You listed the PC on the  9th (wednesday)

The promo covers items listed on  12th & 13th  (sat/sun)

Yes, it is your second posting. Did you read the responses given on your first post?

I'm not sure how people here would know where the message went from your computer. Even *IF* ebay staff did read here (which they don't) they would be very unlikely to know either

But as mentioned, your item was already listed when you took up this new offer so it would not have been included

Unless there is a fee free promo, I only list of a weekend. That way all my listings qualify for the $1 FVF. Anything listed outside of the weekend is charged at the full FVF, which is what happened to you. The promotion only covers items that are NEWLY LISTED during the promotion. Items already listed, don't qualify.

As mentioned on your other thread, as soon as an item auto or manually relists, it no longer qualifies. That's why none of my listings have the auto relist box ticked. They are all manually relisted on the weekends.....every weekend if they are 7 day auctions.

Read the T&Cs. They are your friend.
