I think the mistake alot of people make is not understanding the Australia Post Cycle.

I understand the cylcle perfectly.  Australia Post advertise delivery times on letterboxes, on their website and on the packaging of many of their products.

I think it is Australia Post that doesn't understand the delivery times commitments it makes, and mislead consumers, creating false expectation that AP will actually honor their advertised delivery times.

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

For Mr Cricket.  Aust Post maybe a BUSINESS in your eyes but I would like to inform you that it is actually still owned buy the government of Australia meaning the people of Australia. And was first established to perform a nessasary and very needed service to and for the australian people and was designed to be a non for profit essential service just like our electricity and gas and many other things use to be before the powers to be decided it better for us not to be.

It was designed like all essential services to serve the people and give unpredidented value for money buy use of a methode called non profit. now we all know that just isnt happening no more is it.  Australia post has become nothing more than like every other government dept a simple tool to extract revenue from the masses. A COLLECTOR of yours and my money for those who least deserve it.

Being a government business and by your reckoning is for the people, then isn't any money generated "for the Australian people"?

Well I didn't know, but that explains a lot.

There is a difference between user pays and being scalped. Scalping is against the law unless you are the federal government. Also there is the issue of price scale. If Australia Post can make a profit on delivery of a 3kg parcel, they must be making an absolute motza for an item that weighs less than 500gms but is charged the same.

Notwithstanding, from my point of view it isn't completely the cost of posting so much as the lack of service provided for that cost. For $7.00, they should be delivering to your door by stockinged, satin clad messenger, with the item offered to you on a velvet cushion and above all, without fail.

LOL a few people have called me a boy in the last few days - can't think what kinda boy would choose an avi like mine tho - glad I don't know em LOL

Matey, I don't do politics, ok? I just do business, I just understand how business operates.

a parcel weighing up to 500g is about $7

a parcel that weighs between 500g and 3 kg costs about 11 or 12 in the satchels

I do agree about the service, if they can't provide the service they promise for that price then they need to be transparent and just put up their prices or tell the truth about what their service actually does cover. I don't think it is good that they lead us into a false sense of security that they "might" do their job.

But I have to admit, I would get a bit worried if my postman turned up at my door wearing stockings and satin...

but if it rocks your boat, then so be it.

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

I expect my items to be delivered for the cost of the parcel i should not have to pay extra for that to happen. I didnt jump up and down as you put it but i certainly did get a kick out of her telling me this. I asked a second time and got the same answer. I guess there are numpties everywhere. You must work for australia post!

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

Hi Aussieclassics,

That is certainly a peculiar and I can understand how stressful this must have been for both you, and the addressee. We'd be happy to look in to this for you.

Please feel free to contact us on 13 13 18 or by email here: https://contactus.auspost.com.au/app/ask if you haven't already, to see if there are any clues as to the reason for the delayed delivery of your items.

Please accept my sincere apologies, and pass these on to your customer as well.

Kind regards,

Hi Harley_babes_hoard,

Do you have a tracking number for your letter that might give us some clues as to the reason for the delay?

I'd be happy to check for you 🙂
