I sold a business shirt. A white business shirt.

I've just gotten a message complaining that the shirt is the wrong SHADE of white! Her idea of white is the crisp white, the one with a slight blue tint. The shirt was flat white (she is calling it cream).

Am I really supposed to just refund money because she wanted a different shade of white?

This is the second one this week that, as far as I can tell, is angling for a partial refund/discount. This is getting ridiculous.

And hence, CLEARLY, this particular buyer should be looking for her shirts in the music category.

The only way to get a blue tinge is to use a 'blue bag' - to make your whites whiter than white.

The older member on here I think would know what I'm talking about.

But in saying that, I am presuming the little 'blue bags' are still around.  Evidently were good for bee stings as well.

Is that what they were, I remember years ago my mum putting that funny little blue thing on my bee sting - I thought then (and up till now) that is was specifically for bee stings, well IBGD.

How stoopid do I feel ?

edited to say -

How stoopid do I feel ?

Could be worse, I could be that buyer !!

Bluo (1960s) is the newer product in a bottle & is evidently still around.  I was thinking of Reckitt's Bag Blue which was first introduced in the 1850s.

A Short cylinder of about 1 inch high & wide, the cover made of coarse woven white linen & tied at the top (as pictured below) with a red & white label slipped over it.

I had a look in the old first aid kit & found the one pictured (this one is a bit grubby) - it's something over 60 year of age.  I've actually got an old bottle of Bluo stored away as well.

For the younger members - U dipped it in the rinsing water like U would a teabag before putting in the white clothing.

Not sure what it does for bee stings tho - wouldn't do if I get stung, with my intolerances.  Please, U shouldn't feel like that GreenCat, not everyone knows about blue bags & their other use.

I would ignore it. It's a white shirt. Everyone knows ther are different shades of white, like there is different shades of black, it

sometime depends on the fabric used.

If she was SOOOO picky about the shade of white, she should have gone to a store and even then when she

got it home I bet after it being out of the neon lights, she decides it's not the right white, but you pay for that flexible privelege, and then even some stores, won't give money back because you changed your mind...

They buy online because it's cheaper... I say, she takes that risk. No fault of yours.

If she leaves bad feedback, just reply, with the honest answer, 'It's a white shirt lady" other buyers will just

ignore her too.
