Why can't we leave negative feedback for buyers any more?

Forgive me if this was addressed ages ago or something... but WHY? I'm not a big seller and I haven't had any reason to leave a negative for a buyer in honestly years, until recently... and I'm annoyed that I can't because I was very nearly scammed (thankfully paypal saw through the scam and closed the dispute in my favour, phew) and I just feel that other sellers ought to be warned against the buyer... but there's no way! Not even a neutral.

It's a pretty old thread, maybe you would have been better to start a new thread.

 

Ebay could do things better for sure, but re-introducing seller negs isn't a great idea as I regularly saw it used as a way to threaten or clobber good buyers too.

 

You can only work in the ebay system that exists now & it doesn't look to me as if ebay will reintroduce negs for buyers any time soon because it might put a buyer off.

 

So here's your best way to deal with things, as they stand.

-if you strike an annoying buyer or a really troublesome one, don't give them ANY feedback. No green dot with a neg comment as they can get that removed anyway. No green dot at all. That will stop their feedback score rising & making them look better.

 

-if you have a non paying bidder, always carry through to give them a strike. If they collect a couple of strikes they won't be able to bid with quite a few sellers & that is what is called accountability. It might inconvenience them, which is what you want.
