Have had a buyer bid on lots of my items recently after not paying for items already won. I ended up looking at their feedback of which they have over 200 positive, to discover a large amount of that is actually sellers saying that this person bids on multiple items and doesn't pay. Whilst that was helpfull for me in that I could then cancell all their bids, it does nothing to help remove them from ebay! I know it must be tempting for some to get it off their chest and let their feelings be known, but this person does not care one bit anyway. Don't understand why people are not getting their fees back and helping to remove them. Meanwhile, this persons positive feedback is going up and up!

Some sellers don't know the proper procedures and some can't be bothered to open cases.
Once you know how it's easy, then simply having blocks and adding names to ones BBL eliminates future NPB problems.
It is against policy to leave negative positive and buyers that know can have them removed. And as you say it boosts their positive numbers.
Maybe ebay need to send an email to all accounts outlining some helpful tips on buying n selling basics (common problems) as their support pages are a lot of reading.

And some want to retaliate by leaving negative feedback even when they have issued strikes as they feel it is not fair they can not do this so it makes them feel better to have left it.
So put in place the blocks to stop non payers.
To put these blocks in place hover your mouse over account in your my ebay page and from the drop down click on Site Preferences then go down the list till you see Buyer requirements and to the right of that click on show then click on edit. From there you can put in place the blocks you want, to stop those you want to block from purchasing from you.

It would also be a great comfort if Ebay automatically left Negs for non paying bidders instead of strikes. Then they would be there for all to see and inexperienced sellers would not see the urge to leave false positives!

Yes, automatic negs would be good, but strikes as well I think.I am wondering how many stikes someone actually needs before they are removed. I have done the blocking thing now. But still getting lots of non payments from new people lately. In the last couple of weeks it's been ridiculous! I got so excited just now because someone actually paid.

I, like many of the other sellers that decide to leave feedback for non-payers, issue strikes for non-payers AND leave feedback comments AND get my FVF back.
Not sure why others would think that sellers leaving feedback don't issue strikes - they would just leave feedback prior to closing the unpaid case - easy done.
The set up of the current feedback system truly undermines itself.
I am not advocating for a return to the previous setup - but at a minimum unpaid strikes should be visible to all - maybe similar to bid retractions or revised feedback.
I have a particular dislike for auction non-payers - who have outbid other buyers (including Me) who would have purchased and paid for that item no probs - and maybe even scored it at a much, much lower price.

Oh, I didn't realise you could leave feedback and have a non paying item case. I guess because I've just never thought about leaving the feedback first, in case they did actually pay. But yes of course now I think of it, of course you can do that. Well in that case, I'll assume lots of the people who have left feedback for this particular person have also had cases closed and strikes given. Hmmmm, so really wondering why they are still here and still right now bidding on other items.

But still......shouldn't do it as then they do just get more positive feedback. Ahhh well, suppose there are worse things to worry about in life. So think I'll stop stressing over it all now.

Whilst your positives with negative comments left for non payers are rather amusing,I'm astonished that a seller with your impeccable feedback & experience would publicly announce that you breach ebay policy.

What foxy said - and continue to add feedback stars to non paying buyers, well done, that really helps the system work (not) 😞
