Why (now post is part of fees) can't Free Post items be at the top of search lists in front of more expensive price + post items.
ie: item = $54 + $13.40 comes up the top of the search list in front of the cheaper $59.95 Free Post item.
If ebay wants to promote Free Post over item price plus post, surely the cheapest total price should be at the top of the search results and not on the 3rd or 4th page?

Price and postage lowest first, should see that happen - but it doesn't!
Take a number - I'm dirty on it too

It's one of those great mysteries, and once we seem to work it out, they go and change the way things work again. We'll never truly understand it and they and us will never be happy with the system. It will be forever evolving and we will need to be constantly adapting to it. Gone are the days of simplicity and problem-free selling!

very simple it can only be done this way ,think about it software picks up lowest price , it cant go into every listing and check postage cost as it will vary in a lot of cases
so the theory is simple
$54 item could have free pick up, and delivery costs $13.40 also it can have a vary postage costs depending where you live,
the $59 item has to be behind the $54 ,

You ebay account obviously doesn't like you Stawks......
First your Lists disappear off to 'Murrica and now your Price + Postage--Lowest First does not work.
I was using that search criteria last night with no problems at all.

Lists are back......now this
The auction price is the one that gets the better placement.
If it's got a BIN that makes it dearer, it's still higher up on the list
That make sense?

Well, maybe if you stamp your feet HARD and spit the dummy far enough you might get everything in working order in Australia.

Thing is you shouldn't have to select Price and Postage lowest first, it should be the default search method. As someone else hinted at, this can be circumvented by saying pickup only and then in the body of the listing offer postage, but that would just pee your customers off I would suspect.
