a buyer has purchased an item outside of shipping allocation

HI,

New to selling. A couple of weeks ago i listed a dress for sale as a bidding option only (but had also not unticked the make an offer section without knowing) A buyer made an offer of the starting price. She was from Finland. I declined this offer. Then i changed my settings to inside Australia only because i don't know how to deal with shipping etc. outside of Aust. I also unticked the option to have offers made.

Now this item has just been sold by this buyer for the starting bid amount. I have no idea how she was able to buy it for the starting amount! I also don't know why she did it given that i do not ship outside of Australia. Not sure what to do here now.

I also don't understand why she could buy it at my starting bid price. esp when i rejected "an offer"  and she clearly hasn't bid on the item because it would've been higher. I am so confused.

Thank you. Yes i just meant that i placed the starting bid at $100, with no "buy it now option" so i am not sure how she got it for 100 still. I thought the item would get relisted it it didn't get any bids. Ebay is very confusing to me. Lots of articles to read until you actually find an answer, very frustrating.   So thank you for your advice.

Your AUCTION ended at 10:21:52 today.

The buyer place a BID on 18.08.21 at 10:51:27.

That was the only BID & that's "how she got it for 100 still".

Did you not notice this bid?

Don't forget to block her  - she seems determined.

Anybody not blocked, which you obviously didn't do, can bid. If there is only one bid, at the starting price, that is the winning price.

It is not enough to say you don't post outside of Australia - you need to exclude the countries/regions you don't post to.

It seems you need to read up on how eBay works, how settings work, and why auctions should always be started at the minimum price you are prepared to accept. Unless you know how much the item is worth, in which case BIN is the go.
