Hi i sold a new scarf a few weeks ago. Now i hardly sell on ebay only 5% or less most on other avenues. I dont trust paypal with shonky buyers so always make sure i get registered post and signature. So i looked over and over and over in the light the silk new scarf and there was no faults at all no holes whatsoever if there was would NEVER EVER sell on here.
The lady got the scarf was happy sent excellent feedback. weeks later today she wrote shes not happy shes gone to iron the silk scarf and there is over 10 small holes and sticky mark. I have NO idea what she is talking about as i said i look over and over with my glasses in the light held it up in the light and thought all good its fine. Ive told her to iron silk you have to make sure its on very low setting so i dont want to say she melted it but what else could it be and the sticky mark i have no idea. This is the whole reason i never sell on here. I sell sooo much on facebook abit on quicksales and never needed ebay but thought i would just put a few back up and see. I sold a few thing most dont sell here and yep got 2 non payers and this lady and a item that hasnt arrived. If i have reg post and the item doesnt make it (they want it for this weekend) what happens now? If paypal refunds both these people i will be pretty **bleep** off as both is not my fault.
so as this lady has put excellent feedback can she now start a dispute she got something that she didnt pay for?

tiggywink, I wouldn't think too much about this. $20 loss, things could be worse.
Because I think you are genuine, if I was to meet you, I would give you the $20 for good order sake.
You may want to just refund, block the buyer from buying from you again and move on.
There are always going to be situations that work against you but be happy in knowing you can hold your head up high.
However should you want to pursue this, it may be futile (waste of time), a suggestion is as follows -
Dear buyer,
After having heard your claims I thank you for being patient in the factual finding process of your purchase.
To put your mind at ease, I personally inspect all items posted and distinctly remember checking this silk scarf up against a light for imperfections as it has never been used. I found none.
However it is not to say the scarf has not been damaged in the postal process.
After receiving the photo's and consulting with fellow members, it appears damage has happened after the item was sent.
Is it possible the item was opened and damaged by another member of your household ? If not, then I may require a Statutory Declaration signed to say the parcel has been tampered with in order to open a claim with Australia Post.
Kindly let me know if I can receive a Stat Dec for tampered mail in order to process the refund as requested.
I can email the necessary forms.
Kind regards,
Then wait to see if there is a response.

thank you and if she does respond wanting these stat dec? You know its not the $20 its not the money but the principle. And i only find this on ebay when shonky buyers have paypal to fight for them for being deceitful. she hasnt answered me back ive offered part refund so its upto her
We will cross that hurdle when we get to it.
I agree, it's the principle, we all loathe the baddies getting away with things. However, they pay in the end.
The whole idea is to try and find out if she is trying one on.
If she says she is prepared to sign a stat dec then you can still refund her stating you don't have time to follow through with an AP investigation.
She might accept a partial refund, then it will be the end of that. And add her to your BBL.

Okay i never got a notification from paycrap but she has started a dispute. The scarf was $20 and she wants $15 refunded which fees came to around $5.50 so i made not one cent so i gave it to her
If i offer her back $10 paypal said i may loose out and she keeps i pay the $29
Or i could make her send it back she pays tracking and postage i would loose out but money is not the issue its her being in the wrong. EVen though the scarf obviously wont be the same cond as i got it. DO i get any fees back if she sends it back?
What would you do? I first tried to just give the $15 but as im neg in the account ive tried to put money in and keeps coming up tried another way said it would take a few mins nothing that site is **bleep**!!!
Back to facebook sales for me this site sucks. LIke i said in 15 yrs never had problems like this and out of 7 listings only 2 went smoothly

okay paypal actually gave my money back as this is the first dispute and she could see it was the buyer as well.
HEADS UP THOUGH did you know that if you send an item to a buyer and it sits at their post office and they are too lazy to pick it up and it gets sent back to you EVEN WITH TRACKING showing the buyer didnt pick it up paypal will give the full amount back to the buyer!!! So i told this paypal lady sooo you telling me i can buy something pay with paycrap and then decide no i dont want it and then not pick it up from the post office gets sent back to the seller and the seller pays for my postage!!!!
goodbye freebie ebay

also when you send a parcel off. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A PHOTO as just having the tracking on line is not enough they have to see a sending slip (only have that when i do signature reg etc) honestly facebook and quicksales are so much better. TIme for me to retire from here

Each to their own I guess Tiggy. eBay could be so much better for sellers, for sure, but I think at the moment we are experiencing the collateral damage and resulting ‘empathetic eBay policy’ towards buyers, unfair or otherwise, brought about by unscrupulous sellers in the first place. The majority always pay the price for the bad behaviour of just a few, although going back in years, it was more than just a few.
And, for some unfathomable reason some here seem to experience much more difficulty than others. I don’t know why. We’ve been fortunate and have nothing of tangible consequence to complain about. It helps I guess, to always ask and get good advice, understand the beast here and it’s ‘idiosyncrasies’ if that’s the right word, work within or around them, and stay out of the arena with it. Sometimes that means abandoning one’s own principles and policies, and as irritating and ethically challenging that can be, it remains eBay’s playpen, their rules, fair or unfair, and sometimes it’s of little consequence in the shadow of the ‘big picture.’
eBay can be and indeed is a very successful marketplace for the majority of sellers.
But, I wish you well on FB and Quicksales. It makes good sense not to have all your eggs in the one basket anyway.
Melina.
