Message them and tell them you are happy to refund (less postage costs) after it is returned to you.

You could also point out to them that they are responsible for the security of their ebay account

One thing you can try is tell them if they put a cross through their name and write RTS (return to sender) which will save return postage costs.

I could be wrong here, but as far as I know the return tracking isn't valid if RTS is used, not so much a problem for the seller if the buyer actually sends it back but it could be a problem for the buyer not being able to prove the return delivery.

I just did a bit of research on that, and it appears that AP will charge the seller for the return delivery before they can pick the parcel up.

Tell them to return for a refund, less postage cost. Item itself must be unopened/unused, otherwise a deduction in value will be applied.
If Aus Post somehow put a return postage charge onto you, then tell the buyer that too will be deducted from the refund.
At the end of the day, you have sent out in good faith and should not be responsible for any loss incurred.

The child bought the item....how many times have we heard that one!! I like the ones where "my 3yo bought it". Like a 3yo knows to enter a bid/BIN and then confirm it as well!
