As we all know the new 180 day return has come into effect ............

 

so as sellers what can we do ...........less returns .........

 

1 take plenty pictures ......

2 use tamper proof seal's...(clothes and wearable items)

2 use uv ink...

3 use lock tight on screws....

4 shrink wrap your items .....

 

list in your returns conditions returns only as recieved non retail damaged ....

or charge a restocking fee pre item .........

 

hope this give some insight to 180 day return from e-bay.......

The paypal 180 day extended protection program doesn't start until 18 Nov.

Interesting ideas for the ebay 30 day money back guarantee though, which did start on 1 Nov

I take tonnes of photos nowadays, especially for orders with multiple quantity. I take photos of items with the buyer's address (printed with dymo), also the packaging, tracking number on the satchels with buyer's address affixed before posting at my local AP and get a lodgement receipt.

 

For small items, i check buyer's feedback left for others and slap a registered sticker when necessary. 

 

A lot of work to cover my ass, but since no one else will help, it's worth the effort.

make listings clear & cover youself as much as possible.

 

Cases are decided by bots & for the buyer.

 

The seller has to fight with multiple CS reps who don't know the rules or apply them.That is the only chance the seller has to dispute it-after the refund.There is very little & by that i mean no support or interest in evidence,which is obvious by the eBay response "it is the cost of doing business".

 

HFR etc trumps any policy that a seller includes in a listing.It may deter some buyers just trying it on but the more determined ones know how to get what they want.

 

There is a title in blue on my Selling page with the title something about simplify selling which is a right laugh because eBay made it so much more difficult & dangerous.The only way to simplify selling in the current system is by not doing it at all.

There was a post some time ago from someone who had called Paypal and asked exactly how the 180 day refund was going to work and if it is applied as Paypal says it is going to be then it will not be used for things like second hand clothes or things that would not be expected to last a long time. It will be used in cases where sellers are selling items with a so called guarantee which at the moment is as much use as a chocolate fireguard, it woud also cover things that take longer than 45 days to arrrive. So as I say if it is applied in these types of circumstance I have no problem with it.
