Last week eBay started including the buyer's shipping address in their "Sale confirmed:..." emails.
Today I have made a sale, and the shipping address in the eBay email is different to the shipping address given in the PayPal payment confirmation! What fun!
Obviously I'll check with the buyer and alert eBay to the discrepency, but just wanted to make this issue known so others can avoid a potential problem.
...And while typing this, the buyer has responded to confirm that it is the address provided by PayPal that is correct, and that the one displayed in eBay's email is a previous address from 7 years ago. So it looks like eBay's system can potentially source the incorrect address from their records.
When I go to create the shipping label through eBay, however, the correct address (i.e. the PayPal sourced one) is being displayed.
Go figure.

All our listings have separate postage, with no automatic discounts set up.
We mainly charge the exact postage cost, and calculate combined postage individually for each separate order.
Ah, well there goes that theory.
I wish just once eBay could follow a reasonable line of logic (by which I mean one I can intuitively understand, since they give little other choice, while assuming myself to be reasonable ).

I do understand that you are concern with the addresses of your buyers on file. We received similar reports from other sellers about this issue. I will add your account to our list of impacted sellers so that our Product Team in Sydney can work on this ASAP. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused your business. Rest assured, our team is working hard to get this fixed.
You will see the correct address of your buyer under the "view order details" in your sold page. That address should be followed in completing the transaction.

So eBay are onto it - we can rest assured now.

None of my recent sales have had the buyers name and address in the "your item sold" email. However, back in the days when those details were available to me, I only took notice of what was in the "view order details" (that was before I used eBay labels). Reason being, sometimes a buyer will list their residential address in eBay, but want the item sent to their work address, or another address, so that's what they put in PayPal when they pay. That is the address you have to send to to keep your seller protection (for what that is worth).
This is not a new thing. Buyers have always had the option to have one address in eBay and another in PayPal. For a fair bit of time, we both had items sent to where Mr Tippy worked. Even when he got the cancer and had 6 months off because of it (long story), we still had stuff sent there and one of his bosses would deliver it to us. He was working for a transport and logistic company, so not an issue to deliver. Now that he works at the local hospital, we have to get stuff sent to home, grrrrrr. Not convenient, because if we are both at work............stuff gets stolen. Thank you for Parcel Collect! (no parcel lockers for us as we don't live in a capital city)
My point is, buyer could have 123 High St Sydney as their home address, but have 456 Black St Sydney as their postal address in PayPal (oh carp, can I say that? Black? Is that politically incorrect?). Whatever their address is on payment, that's where you should send it. In my scenario, 456 Black St is where you should send it.

"Product Team in Sydney" - Is that Sydney Oztralia, or Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada ? I never thought eBay employed humans let alone breathing ones in far away places outside San Jose, California...
They have a special crew dealing with the transition to Managed Payments on Ebay Oz, but I don't know if they're in Siddarrnnee.
