eBay's postage fee... here we go again!

Hello to everybody who might happen to read this.

I only use this account to browse on ebay to get an idea of prices for items I list elsewhere.

I'll never sell or buy on ebay ever again due to their illegal postage fee.

I know this has been covered so many times and I know there's been so much information and links to the relevant websites, but the following information and link to the ACCC website proves in a nutshell (as far as I'm concerned) that what they do from profiting from a service they don't provide is illegal as much as ACCC or any organisation does nothing about - so it's up to the individual to take a stance against them just like I have, but instead of rambling on about what I'm doing on behalf of all Australian ebay users and to make ebay pay back every cent they've stolen... here's the information and link to the ACCC website:

The Australian consumer law prohibits businesses from misleading consumers (ie: their illegal postage fee should be displayed next to the postage cost just as GST has to be displayed).  It also prohibits them from accepting payment (for products and/or services) if they do not intend to supply (those same products and/or services).

http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-delivery-of-products-services

I'll leave that with yourselves and whether you take a stance against them too is totally up to yourselves.  Everyone knows (or should know) that this place if "rife" with unfair business practices and policies, but when they conduct in illegal activities and decide to steal money from the very people who make them money then that's my justification for my own stance against them.

Cheers!

Your complaint is legitimate, in that it is a fair complaint, but your proposed solution is ludicrous, in that the issue has been debated and found in eBay's favour.

debated? by who .. all that we have ascertained is that the ACCC is a gutless wonder and is anti Australian .. that is hardly a debate .. it was a rebuff from the agency who's charter is to protect Australian consumers from exactly this type of abuse! ..

SO what is your solution? .. and I keep reading and note that you snarkily suggest to "Don't like it, don't list on eBay. Simple."  .. unfurtunately every other viable internet commerce platform available to Australians has been obliterated due to the contempt that the ACCC has for businesses registered by australians and their obvious favouritism towards rorting thieving scumbag multi national corporations bent on destoying our entire industrial landscape and subverting it to the cause of unbridaled and perverse greed.

.. your sellthrough on that account is approximately 3% per month .. nothing to brag about but if you are happy with that good for you ..

.. and as for your referance to conspiracy theory it would seem that you are possibly confused .. perhaps the words you were looking for was expose' of high level white collar criminal activity ..

Man Happy  x3n0m is brave and knowledgeable.

Those are delusional people, lacked knowledge only sought the easy way out of things. No real credibility at all, (sell $10 items think they are God) they assumed their own superiority to tell people what to do and assumed the qualification to teach or advice because they great sellers on ebay.

In every response, they are only trying to acknowledge how good they are, blah blah blah.

Their world is too small for them to comprehend a bigger world or too scary for them. Very very delusional amateur hobbyists, spending time sitting on the fence stroking their egos. They might be just kids behind the computer. LOL

Another posting ID that doesnt sell anything........Smiley Very Happy

Boy this is fun !!!!

Like it or not, ebay IS the bigger world. It has the highest number of sellers and buyers of any global sales platform available to small business. We can sit in our lounge room, list virtually anything we want and it is available for buyers around the world. I have even sold an item to the " North Pole " . True story and if you go back far enough through my posts you will find it mentioned at the time.

We pay ebay for the global exposure through our fees. Like everyone else here, I get very annoyed that a large chunk of those fees are collected through what seems to me to be the underhanded practice of charging commisions on postage. Ebay NEEDED to collect more money and was not prepared to simply raise commisssions by 5 - 6 %, so the fee on postage was introduced.

Why did ebay need to raise fees ? If you follow their reports to the U.S stock exchange, they dont actually make huge amounts of money. Their share price has gone through a period of stagnation when compared to similar internet based companies. Basically they simply needed to charge us more for the services they provide or lose investor support and go broke.

If they go broke there is going to be a lot of us here who are going to be in all sorts of trouble. Even though I dispise the commisions on postage, I would rather pay the extra fees and continue to sell, rather than see the platform get into financial trouble and fold.

If you dont like the constant platform changes, questionable seller policies and paying the commissions on postage, develop a different business that is completely unrelated to the internet.

Two years ago, I was a full time ebay seller. I,m currently building up a sheep grazing business, running sheep in vineyards and on leased properties throughout the beautifull green hills area near where I live. It makes a pleasant change from sitting behind a computer screen 24 / 7 and I,m loving it.

Anyway, must go now. I have a truck coming tommorow to cart lambs off to the market. Time to load the working dogs onto the ute and go mustering sheep.   Smiley Happy

If Ebay is the bigger world, absolutely delusional. Maybe minding the animals is better talking minding people, for people for crave control. Again telling me to develop a business somewhere else. People loves to give advice. Maybe nobody listens to them in real life.

Commission on sale had increase. Anyways, I don't need to give further information. HAppy minding your animals, really no purpose on responding on the thread.

lol .. oh boy that is a doosy .. sorry but that is quite a pathetic arguement .. should we do a whip around to help them out? .. maybe some criminal activities like mugging some innocent people and sending the money off to help ebay would be the right path to fix this all for them .. am sure it is all legit and our legal people will all look the other way to give ebay a leg up through their tough times .. 😉

Re: eBay's postage fee... here we go again!

Just a reply to the thread in general,
I dont know why people complain about seller fees, its not as if ebay does not inform the seller about them.
For example, i go to list something and just before i touch the "list it" button there is a notice telling me i will be charged a fvf if the item sells, there is a link and everything
*we may be human, but we are still animals*

No worries even if your account is suspended. You can still make claims when ball start rolling.

Yes get it right! the postage fees are not justifiable as we agreed to pay the commission on sale already!
