Its my understanding that ebay australia is now a dying platform and no longer has any growth potential.
This is relevant by the poor customer support, and lack of dedicated customer support.
They have a call back system instead of a dedicated call centre, as its allows them to provide extremely low quality service at an extremely cheap price.
There are no longer physical buildings or further development, with everything going into the online nothingness.
Just a warning to get out while you can

Easier and cheaper to just get rid of buyers and sellers that require constant help. Call centres cost money and who will pay for them.

Yes, you're right, it is definitely easier & cheaper that way. I guess it depends on what you class as requiring constant help.
To me, there are written help topics that should be enough to at least get people started.
It shouldn't require a call centre for a new buyer to find out they are expected to pay for an item if they bid and win or commit to buy.
It shouldn't take a call centre for someone to be able to get a rough idea of the fees if they wish to sell, or to be able to read that there is no reserve on most sales. or that they can't bump the price up after a sale.
People will mainly contact ebay in person when there is a problem and on any platform such as ebay, there are always going to be some problems and I would dare say there are probably more potential problems with second hand items than new.
What could help is if habitual troublemakers were kicked off. For example, for habitual non paying bidders. They don't need help, they are just flouting the rules as they please.
But the thing is, if ebay does try to turn the site over to only the mega sellers of new stock, then the little or occasional sellers of the vintage or unusual items will be squeezed out. I wouldn't like to see that.

I listed a used item and it appears at the top in best match out of 49 results. I am yet to see any issues with used items appearing in search results and usually have more issues with really generic items that are in over saturated markets.
One issue I do see is when you search a particular item and include vintage in the search term and get new items mixed in. Selecting the correct category should eliminate those most times.

Same people who pay for eBay employees doing other stuff. Most companies have shirked their responsibility and done away with customer service. It's not because they can't afford it. Usually it's due to greed and the fact that they can get away with what they do.

I'm a long time user and use to have a high opinion of E-bay but with the overwhelming fraudulent Chinese Vendors claiming to post from various location within Aus only for it to arrive over two weeks later clearly from china. It's now my very last stop looking for items I need. No doubt there's been a multitude of complaints about this to support, with nothing ever happening which is unacceptable, especially when it directly affects the buyers business.

Strange, your FB scores as a buyer, seems to indicate you are a very regular ebay buyer, while your FB left for sellers is predominantly positive.

Sad but true! Whilst there are a great amount of diligent genuine sellers in China, there is a higher incidence of things going wrong for the buyer. I guess money talks and sadly this drowns out our voices.

Amazon, will drive the nail into the ebay coffin. 2 day delivery with FBA. Ebay failed to see the the direction of online shopping and demand of better service for both seller and buyer.

It hasn't so far. Besides, ebay don't post the items out like Amazon, the individual sellers do. Always makes me cack myself when I see people threaten ebay with Amazon. They are nothing alike, apart from having a website.
I bought something from Amazon 5 weeks ago. Still waiting for it to arrive.

# The number of sellers that now have their own websites
I agree with this, we have our own as well, however it has taken some 4 or 5 years to gain credibility. It now outperforms both our Ebay stores combined, however it is not cheap to advertise which is about the same as Ebay fees, but sales are much larger. While Ebay is still profitable we will stick with them
