ebay stole my profits. yes i know that you should read the terms and fee conditions but there aren't any other auction alternatives that efficient as ebay yet but i hope there will be soon. 7.9% is a complete rip off and they know it. I sold and ipad for $370 and ebay took $29.30. That says it all. we are all played like sheep paying those public company profits......

I don't see what you expect ASIC to do about it.....maybe you mean ACCC?
As they have not done anything in 8 years I doubt that anything will happen now.

Hmmm, I agree with article owner. Try selling under 100 items which are low profit and ebay takes $300 for the month n paypal takes its cut. It is extortinate. If you run a business on ebay your nuts. We are closing our store on ebay n our competitors Culture Kings closed theres last year in 2019. There greedy n buyers rob sellers by claiming not received items when they have n ebay refunds them. So yeah I agree, about time ASIC got involved. My complaints already with them.
I feel that your discontent with eBay and PayPal is misplaced.
Do you expect eBay to not charge you fees because your low-profit-margin items do not allow for all the costs of running a business? I donโt see it as a failure of eBay but more a failure of your business model.
Nobody forces you to sell on eBay. Nobody else sets your profit margins and nobody tells you what to sell.
$300 in fees would be levied on sales of $2,727. For 100 items that would average out at around $27 for the item + postage. I looked at your current and sold listings and most are up around $50 including postage.
I am confused by your shipping. You charge $9 for โfreightโ. Are you sending by Australia Post or by courier?
As far as refunds to buyers go, you agreed to eBayโs terms of service when you signed up for eBay. That alone would probably work against you in any complaint to ASIC or ACCC. Also, they wonโt intervene on the fees issue unless there are hidden/undisclosed fees being applied . . . and that is not the case.
My advice, donโt list items that donโt make a profit.
