Re: i keep being asked by ebay to put more information on my listings for premium seller staus,

I wouldn't get too overly concerned about it. Stick with your separate postage if that suits you better.

About 9-months ago we changed all our listings so that they complied and got the little TRS badge on them. They were promising us higher rankings if we did it.

But after all was done we could not observe any difference in our rankings/sales. So it's all a big con in my opinion. This was before they were taking their FVF on postage so at that time they wanted everyone to go FREE postage so they could get that FVF on the embedded postage. Now it doesn't matter of course.

Re: i keep being asked by ebay to put more information on my listings for premium seller staus,

Ignore it - that's what I do. 😄

The emails say "we noticed your listings are missing important information", but they're not. It's not even information that they're "encouraging", it's free and/or additional services, which are not mandatory, or even remotely obligatory, so I just delete the messages and carry on.

PS - a quick rundown, Power Seller just refers to the number of transactions (and value sold). 100 transactions of at least $1000 value will qualify you as a Power Seller. Top Rated and Top Rated Plus (or premium services) are based on how buyers rate you, and offering things like free post, an express service, 30 day money back returns... These things may be important to some buyers, but I think they are in the minority, so if you're doing just fine without offering the extra stuff, I wouldn't worry about it much.

Re: i keep being asked by ebay to put more information on my listings for premium seller staus,

I get those messages too. In fact, there was one saying exactly that waiting for me when I got home from work this afternoon. I don't (can't) offer express postage because even if I post something in a yellow express bag, it still takes minimum 2 days to get anywhere because I'm not in the right zone....same as it takes regular mail. I live in central NSW and I'm wondering how long express post would take to WA because it has often taken 2-3 weeks to get a small padded bag to WA. Funny that I got a package from China a few weeks ago in 3 days (via airmail), yet it takes 2-3 weeks to get to WA. Go figure!

Thanks for that info re power sellers DG, I was recently upgraded to PS and TRS and wasn't realy sure what being a PS meant and was a bit reluctant to ask. They must've changed it slightly because I became one a few years ago briefly and I had to stop selling because I no longer got the monthly free listings. As soon as I was upgraded, the remaining free ones I had disappeared. I've noticed that hasn't happened this time. I don't sell very much, so having to pay an insertion fee on everything was sending me broke. I would sell a few items totalling $20-30 in total, yet had to fork out nearly $100 in insertion fees! I'm glad they've changed that bit.
