just a bit over people not paying after winning and also others not leaving any feedback...

fed up with people wasting my time.. why the hell do they bid on something and then not pay.. i always send emails giving them plenty of time to respond but they never do.....  I just dont get it...

then when i do sell something theyre not leaving feedback... its just plain rude...

and the postage costs are killing me.. what i dont understand is how can something come from china for $5.00 including postage but the smallest item to post in Australia is $7.20 I just cant compete...

i think ebay in Australia has seen its day and wont be viable for much longer at this rate..

so not happy.. this is my whinge...

that is all...

In reply: auctions are fine for duplicate listings,
I have Phoned eBay about this and As soon as someone places a bid on the first listing. Your Second auction listing must also have it's BIN price in place. I use this method every day.
It has also been proven that a buyer will click BIN if it also has an auction price Faster than mulit Quantity listings. Oh my knowledge base is 4014* in 4 years trading on eBay Happy selling to all.

"Sellers can have as many auction style listings running at the same time for the same item as they want"

No they can't any more. The Duplicate Listing Policy was announced and updated in April

Not anymore.

"

The following types of listings will be considered duplicate listings even though the listing format or details may vary:

  • An auction-style listing with the Buy It Now option and an auction-style listing without the Buy It Now option for an identical item

  • A fixed price listing and an auction-style listing with the Buy It Now option for an identical item

  • Two auction-style listings for an identical item with different ending times"

I am glad they have updated it, it was a very silly thing for sellers to do anyway. I was still a bit out of things in April and haven't yet caught up on all the changes as they won't effect me until November when I start selling again. Of course that depends on getting the go ahead from consultant re flying long haul etc.

Your Star Trek coffee mug with the free postage, if that sells for the starting price, you will lose money on it as it could cost more than that to post when you factor in packaging and box size.

I understand that NPB are a pain. There's a chance they are repeat offenders, so make sure you have your blocks in place. That way if they have 2 violations in 12 months, they can't buy or bid on your items. Some people change their mind and think if they ignore it it will go away. Others might find an indential item cheaper and again, if they ignore it it will go away. Make sure if they don't pay that you open a case after 4 days and then close it 4 days later to get your FVF's back. Gives them a big black mark against their name too. Add them to your blocked buyer list as well.

Well, I have no reply to what you were having a whinge about (I might if it was something more than a whinge, but when it's not, there's not a lot of help or advice to be had), but you did mention that you didn't know about the duplicate listing policy, and getting pinged with policy violations would make NPBs the least of the whinges you'd have if they resulted in eBay suspending your account.

Just had a look at the first item on your feedback list that I could see details of

and you are losing money before you even start. My suggestion would be that you could save yourself the frustration involved by going to the Pub and have a G & T with DG > LOL It could actually save you money and reduce your stress level considerably.

If you paid $7.20 for postage you are already ten cents out of pocket just with postage and final value fees .

On an $8,50 sale

final value fees 84 cents

paypal   51 cents

postage $7.20

And I have not mentioned

cost of purchase or manufacture

packaging

time to get item to post office and package item safely

Allowance for replacing items fraudulently claimed by buyers.

Allowance for manufacturing defects

Now if you used the large letter rate at  $1.40 and registered it for $3.20 you would have made $ 2.55 less the costs of purchase and packaging, and time to get to post office.

Well, it would definitely be a cheap night - I'm a light-weight Smiley LOL But the last time I drank anything stronger than beer on a night out (years ago now) the sad but true extent of my ninja obsession revealed itself and I ended the night with two sprained ankles after thinking I could be one Smiley Embarassed Smiley Embarassed Smiley Embarassed

So, may not be all that good for the stress levels if they have to carry me home....
