is there a limit to how many ebay id's you can have?
I know that you need to have a new email address for each one but if you had 100 email addresses could you possibly have 100 IDs or does ebay limit it to a certain number per person/family/residence etc?

then you must be looking at his other id his last 3 feedback on the right hand side says private , so you cant see what was brought , and to ima no i dont need to go to a site that i have forgotton already , in fact i cant remember what i did yesterday.

The question the OP asked was "is there a limit to how many ebay id's you can have?", so not only has Joe dragged up a dead thread, he has immediately taken it off-topic, which he constantly claims is a 'bad thing'.

That's a blanket setting for ALL purchases, on the buyer's ID, not something set by the buyer. If a member sets their account to private, you won't be able to see any feedback.
You really, really need to spend some time on the Site Map. It's full of FACTS, not suppositions.

dig i hope you dont mind answering this and i hope you dont mind clicking on you , you say you sometimes use this id to sell is that correct , but i can see you buy on this account it only states the sellers id , i cant view the items and it says private , so how would i know what you brought, here on ebay.
my question is can you buy and sell on 1 id whithout the new buyer know what you paid for it 2 weeks ago on ebay.

The reason some feedback show as "private" is because the SELLER has set their listing as private. You can tell an auction that is private by clicking on the bidding history. Instead of showing an anonymous ID like y***s (56) it will say something along the lines of buyers identity hidden. That is the sellers doing. Next time you create a listing, under where the price is is a box to set the listing as private. Have a look. That's how the sellers get their listings to show private.
In my feedback, some show what the item I bought was, some just say private. Some sellers list all their items as private because they sell sensitive items, like lacy underwear or "massagers". Others do it simply because they can. Others do it so no-one can see they are using another account up increase the price on their auction (shill bidding). All those scenarios you have been told about before.
If your short term memory is so bad, maybe you should go and see a doctor..........or give up "smoking".

Congratulations! I know how hard it is to stop. Actually, the stopping is easy, it's the staying off that's the hard part.
I hope that's cleared up the ID stuff now?

As I said, I made the decision to have separate IDs for buying and selling when eBay still displayed the item titles in feedback, but I keep them separate because people can still click on the seller ID and view the kind of items I may have purchased. I feel any kind of access to my buying habits is inappropriate and not entirely fitting with being a professional seller.
Consider also, that a combined buyer/seller ID has the potential to be somewhat misleading to people at first glance, and while I do know that it's up to individual buyers to research their sellers, the FB percentage carries a lot of weight. If I have 5000 FB and only 1 of those is from selling, it could foster an undeserved level of trust in me as a seller 😉 (Not to mention that buying FB is counted in the total when percentages are worked out after negs - eg say I have have received 100 FB, one of which is a neg from a sale, one is a positive from a sale, while the other 98 are from purchases. My FB percentage will be 99%, but I'd actually have a 50% rating if it was based just on my selling history.

Joe, I explained Private feedback and Private listings to you ages ago as did several other members.
If you are incapable of remembering what you have been told many times maybe you should stop posting on the boards or at the very least stop arguing the point with other posters who do remember what they are told.
If your memory is so poor that you cannot remember what you did yesterday you need to seek medical help.
