is there a limit to how many ebay id's you can have?

I know that you need to have a new email address for each one but if you had 100 email addresses could you possibly have 100 IDs or does ebay limit it to a certain number per person/family/residence etc?

Re: new Id

OMG I had a nightmare.  I dreamt that I was on a merry-joe-round . . . . FOR 4 HOURS !!!!!!

Okay, wide awake now, went and got my own dizzy drugs, lots to catch up on . . . but first, I would like to publicly apologise to joe for confusing him earlier.  You see, I said that it would be a good idea to have one ID for buying, and one ID for selling.  I confused him because I use this ID to sell, but I also buy some things on this ID.  However, I do not sell the things I buy on this ID.  I buy K1000 cameras on another ID and I sell those K1000 cameras on this ID.  The accessories I buy on this ID are for private personal use and not for on-selling.

Another point of confusion for joe surrounds private purchases.  The items that I buy that show as "Private" in eBay feedback are from seller listings that were set up as "Private" listings by the sellers.  I have no control over that.  The fact that you can read my feedback comments shows 100% that this ID is not set to private.

So let me clarify this for joe,  you can have eBay feedback from private listings and sell at the same time.

So, now to joe's posts since I went and had my nap.

fair enough lol. when you wake up  ,after your nap,  you say you buy camera accesaries on k1ooo  but sell them on lets say id k2ooo

so is the stock you buy private,   and do you sell on k1000 for other things.

I don't buy camera accessories to resell.  I sell cameras on k1ooo-slr-sales.  I value add to my purchases by changing the leatherette from the original Black to some other colour like Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink, Snakeskin etc.

original.jpg  to   red.JPGor yellow.JPGor bwsnakeskin.JPG

(I like the last one because I support Collingwood)

maybe you can help k1000 says he buys on this id  but its private, so how can he sell things on this id , if he says you cant

As above, feedback from private listings does not affect my ability to sell on this ID.  Making ALL of my feedback private and not able to be viewed would stop me from selling.

no answere from you i will have to wait until k1ooo  wakes up

I'm awake now (I wish I wasn't ! )

joe wrote: (in reply to helen)

simple question  k1ooo is going in circles from cameras to camera parts and bla bla.  all i am saying why does he need 2   ids   when 1  shoud do it,  now he says you cant buy and sell on 1 id whithout your product being private, but he does buy and sell on 1 id.

I choose to have multiple IDs so that my camera purchases do not show on my selling feedback i.e. don't buy and sell the same items on the same ID.

joe wrote: (in reply to T-G-S-E)

thanks the great    i understand that , but he does sell on that id,  in fact he was selling curents not that long ago on that id.

Yeah, I wanted to be a currant seller so I could post on a thread where the OP only wanted current sellers to post, go figure!  Buying items from sellers who have 'private' listings does not stop me from selling.

joe wrote: (in reply to Lyndal)

then you must be looking at his other id   his last 3 feedback on the right hand side says private , so you cant see what was brought , and to ima no i dont need to go to a site that i have forgotton already , in fact i cant remember what i did yesterday.

The seller made those items private joe, not me.  A Chinese seller selling camera accessories.  I have no idea why the Chinese seller would make these items 'Private' as they are not of a personal nuture.   Here's some pics of the three items.

camera accessory 1.JPG     camera accessory 2.JPG     camera accessory 3.JPG

items 252037586221,  252037612004  and  261982216903

Re: new Id

Yup! I was a 40-50 a day myself. I used the tablets which worked well. People smoking around me don't bother me. It's when I'm on my own or driving long distance on my own that I think about it most. It's just silly mind games that I have to overcome. I'm guessing you mean a hypnotherapist.

Back to the topic, I have 2 active ID's. I buy and sell on both. The second account was meant to be purely for selling, but I bought some things to get some feedback. If I buy something to resell on account A, I resell it on account B. If I buy something to resell on account B, I resell it on account A. The only exception is, one of the sellers I've been buying from for ages on account A has private listings, so I'll resell those items on both accounts because anyone looking at my feedback won't be able to see how much I paid for them.

Some things I do make a rather large profit on, so I'm more comfortable not buying and reselling on the same account. I don't need abusive messages from buyers saying "I noticed you bought that item for 40c and I just paid $40 for it. What gives?". Don't laugh, it has happened. That particular item was listed for auction with a start price of $3.99. That person bid up to that amount. There were several people bidding. They must have thought it was worth that much if they bid that much. It was only when they went back through my feedback and saw how much I paid, they felt ripped off.

so you now understand why a member might have two IDs?

You spelt Collingwood wrong, it starts with a capital C.
