obligatory Powerseller classification

I am outraged at what ebay has done by making me a power seller with out my consent, I've phoned customer support and let them have it, I'm now considering opening another account or more and alternating between them to avoid the power seller classification, what other company disadvantages their regular uses like this, specifically not being given the option of 30 free listings.

DON'T ACCEPT THIS, phone customer support and voice your dissatisfaction.

oh boy, no pleasing most people. 1. lots here whinging and whining and carrying on because they cannot sell anything on eBay because of all the overseas sellers... too much garbage.... bad search results, defaults to BM and not Aussie Only etc.etc. blah blah, tears..tantrums. oh woe is me. eBay has ruined my business, I;ll have to go on the dole.... OR 2. lots here whinging and whining and carrying on because they sell TOO MUCH on eBay and they miss out on free listings, everything they list must be selling to reach $3,000 p.a. max. at which point the free listings cut out, etc.etc. blah blah, tears..tantrums. oh woe is me. eBay has grown my business to the next level up and I wanted to stay poor, with no sales, just free listings for the fun of it. ๐Ÿ˜ž are there any sellers out there that have reached a happy medium with their eBay business?? or is any excuse to moan about eBay a good excuse? .

Nothing like a good moan about ebay to cheer the day up. ๐Ÿ˜„

as I said several MONTHS ago when the original post was made... you list on ebay,  you SELL,  you are successful.. ebay is good for you, you're selling  $3,000p.a. minimum..you are doing well...

PS is a level you sell at$3,000 / 100 items p.a. you are at that level

if you want to stay below that level? not have PS? simple, just dont sell so many items for such $ value and you stay below. it is not a STATUS or a GIFT, it is simply an indication of what level you trade at on eBay's site,... you make it to that level, that is shown on the eBay site.  eBay indicate what level of customer you are, ONLY YOU can determine which level you reach by the amount of business you do on eBay, your choice, your decision.

the free listings are to give new sellers or casual sellers the chance to see how they go.. if they like selling, if they have the kind of goods people want to buy, and if they can be successful selling.

you obviously passed that, so congratulations, you have been successful, so you can join the ranks of us millions of successful sellers paying eBay fees to continue our business.

Welcome.

Why would I want to phone customer support and complain that I am making a success of selling on ebay?

When the free listings came in I just started listing up to 30 items a month on another id,  it is a great way of testing the water to see if an item is going to be a good seller or not and is also a cost effective way of listing things you wouldn't want to waste a listing fee on, surprisingly enough they often sell.

So your comment about "you won't sell enough anyway" is way off base although you are probably thinking of QS, in which case I totally agree with you.

Yes of course im talking about the slow site, you dont want or need the money that ebay is allowing you to have by SELLING your items here, then list where they wont sell, simple, but stop crying that your selling to much and making to much money here geez.

You do realise though, that just because you want to NOT be a powerseller and your selling $3000 per year, you still have to declair that?

I dont mind being a PS at all as i mentioned above, i worked hard at selling more and at keeping my PS status and im quite proud, i love that i can sell on ebay, its the only place i sell, not the only place i tried, but i love it.

What i dont love is having to tell the tax man and centerlink LOL now thats something to complain about, NOT that your selling to much, geez.

I love being able to use that money to pay off my via card, if all i wanted was 30 free listings per month, i would never get out of debt.

Basically once people have used their 30 free listings for one, two, maybe three months they'll all be powersellers...<<

Is this really true??? I don't ever want to be a power seller and lose the advantage of 30 free listigs per month, as I simply don't sell enough of those 30 listings to warrant it.
