Why do so many buyers wait 3-4 days to pay for something (by Paypal) that costs $1.50?
Waiting til payday? lol Drives me nuts!

Totally agree but it is the way of the world nowdays.
How many times have you gone to pay for something in a shop and the person in front of you, who is being served, holds the whole line up because they don't have enough money and have to transfer it on their mobile phone? That drives me nuts too!
Why the heck would you go and buy something without the ability to pay for it?

If it annoys you so much why don't add immediate payment requirement ot your listings ?
Maybe eBays not the place for you if you cannot wait for payment within a relatively short time frame ?

Ebay give buyers 4 days to pay so there is no point in stressing about it. At least they are paying which according to some posters is a rare experience these days

It probably wouldn't be the case in every instance, but some buyers are under the impression they need to transfer funds into PayPal in order to pay via PP, and so some buyers will BIN an item (or several, from the same or various sellers), transfer the total funds, then pay.
I kinda used to do that. Not make sellers wait for the money, though, not if I could help it anyway. I knew about eCheques, but I preferred sending instant payments (and didn't have a credit / debit card when I started on eBay), so when I spotted something I wanted to buy, I tranferred the money and then made the purchase when it cleared. Most (if not all) of my early purchases were auctions, so I'd usually transfer money in as soon as I saw something I wanted to bid on, so I could pay as soon as the auction was finished. Sometimes, if I saw something near the end of the auction duration, before I bid I'd message the seller to ask if they'd mind waiting a day or two for payment.

Are you serious? lol I guess you have trouble with tone and intent in other peoples posts.

Not at all.
You are whinging about getting a sale where buyers are paying.
If you want payment quicker ... ummmm... you have a choice available to get it quicker - immediately in fact.
Some people live on VERY limited incomes ... YES right down to the dollars and cents. Pretty sure you are not stupid GTX and knew exactly what you were posting would elicit comments that were not sympathetic to your statements.

I think I used to think that too ...come to think of it.... wayyy back in the day. Paypal does seem to give that impression if you dont read much about it and are new to it.
Soo many of them do it for the $1.50 items I have, and no so much for the more expensive items, even buyers with 1000+ feedback. I like to do things straight away, on the spot, so I dont have to think about it and its not taking up space in my little brain. So if I see a sale, I pack it up and send, immediately, same day. Its a bit like someone who likes to keep a house.. ultra clean. lol

Sounds very much like that you need to add immeadiate payment required to your listings. Then your needs will be met. Clearly your customers needs are less important.
Maybe you need to change the wording in your listings which clearly says " Paypal or Direct deposit within three days ONLY." - Not quite sure why you are annoyed really.
