"Sponsored" listings

just recently noticed 2 items that are appearing on every page in my search results with "Sponsored" at the top of them.

Re: "Sponsored" listings

Apart from another reborn thread I have noticed that there are no more sponsored listings in the catergory that I buy from.

Not sure if it has totally been removed from other catergories?

Re: "Sponsored" listings

I am a seller and buyer. I will not use sponsored listings. As a buyer all they do is make it very hard to see my saved item searches. The promoted listings to me are painful, when i am trying to sort items how i want them in searches. I have made a decision to not buy promoted items as my little protest. Does anyone else feel the same way.

Re: "Sponsored" listings

It's just another way for ebay to collect more fees and those sellers that use sponsored listings seem to be happy enough if their products sell to pay ebay those extra fees.

It's funny though as the items I'm interested in, the sponsored items don't interest me at all.

Re: "Sponsored" listings

Off topic, but why on earth would you pay eBay for a store when you only have 15 listings, you can get 40 free listings with a non-store account ?

Most sellers here will say you need well over 100 listings and a good sell-through rate to make a store viable.

Edit. Having a store doesn't make your items any more visible to buyers.

Re: "Sponsored" listings

It's the vibe, baby.

Maybe they think they have more credibility with a store.

My non-store selling account has about 60% of the listings of my store. 90% of those are items I had to take out of my store when the auto-relists went away. That account contributes about 30% to my sales, so I don't think I am being throttled by not having them in my store.

I also noticed that when I had a non store account the sales where very " natural " when compared to my stores at the time. I have to say though, at the moment my store sales are increasing quite nicely and responding well to new listings. While there have been periods in the past when my sales where as regular as clockwork, there is no indication my stores are being throttled at the moment.........Touch wood.
