I removed an Item from auction where there are no bids and ticked the box "item is no longer available". That worked fine but then i get an email from ebay that the item will be automatically relisted.
What sense is in that? What games is ebay playing with me now? I have learned that there is always a catch and that it will cost me money.

possible you have a tick in your relisting box

If you have ticked the box for the 3 free relists when you listed the item, you will need to turn that off before ending it. Just find the item in your selling list on your MyeBay page and click the menu list at the far right of the item. The last item on the list should read Remove autorelist, click this and then end you can end the item without it relisting again. You should find if you check your account though, that you have not have been charged for the relist, if you got an autorelist message, it obviously hadn't used up all three free relists.

Thanks for your advise, i realise that items automatically relist but all common sense dictate that if I remove the item as "no longer available for sale" it will not be available for sale, no ifs or buts, no automatic relisting would make that item available again.
I cannot see the items specifics again because it is not listed any more, all I have is the email telling me that the item will be relisted and if I open tht Item it will tell me that "You ended this listing by indicating this item is no longer available".
I don't like to relist it just to untick relist and unlist again, I am sure ebay will find a way to penalise me for making this change.
It is like Schrödinger's cat, both dead and alive at the same time, in ebay terms the item is available and not available at the same time.

Is it in your unsold list, or showing in your active listings? If it has relisted, it should be in the active listings list, find it there, turn off the autorelist and then end it again. If it isn't in active listings but is in unsold, then obviously your ending it has over-ridden the autorelist and the message you received was just an automated one that recognised the listing had ended but not that you had deiberately ended it. The bot that sends out the message is probably programmed to send it for any listing that drops into unsold and has the autorelist set.

Thanks for helping me in this Penny. The items are in Unsold listing so we can safely assume that it will remain unlisted and as you said the bot probably over reacted.

I ended some items a month or so ago, with no bids, because one I decided to keep it and the other was somehow a duplicate. Neither of those 2 relisted. I can't remember exactly the message I received, but I think it was the generic "your item didn't sell" message. They were both on their first listing with the box ticked to auto relist.
Edited to add: if you want to play it safe and check, log out and check your listings as a guest (on a search page, not in My eBay).
