Since ebay introduced their offer of 30 free listings per month I have been using it; yesterday (3.1.2013) I wanted to upload twenty items with turbolister; only ten were uploaded, for the rest it said that I had exceeded my monthly limit; never heard of this before !!! Checking on ebay etc I could not find anything execpt general information; following ebay's instructions in these to find my limits ( all selling -> account limits or on the sellerdashboard) there were no links or information re my limits to be found anywhere. Complete blank. At the bottom of my 'all selling' page there is a reference to the 30 free lsitings, simply stating "used 10, left 20". Even trying to relist an unsold item results in the same message re account limit displayed. I phoned ebay this morning, just to be told some general bla bla about them updating and reviewing, which really meant nothing to me. received an email later saying " ...the current limits will not be eligible for appeal until after 30-Jan-13. You are welcome to write back on 30-Jan-13 for another review. This should provide enough time for some recent sales to be delivered and feedback received. At that time, we'd be happy to review your account and, if possible, adjust your selling limit to allow additional activity to take place. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to build a positive selling history on eBay and to follow all selling policies. You can also monitor your performance in your seller dashboard to ensure that you are maintaining your excellent service to buyers, and keeping your account in good standing."
Ebay is advertising and promoting its first 30 listings per month FREE OF FEES ! So what happened to that ???? I can list only ten items, let alone get to the 31st item to pay the listing fee for !!!! THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING ! ebay just turns around and says "no"; I actually have to contact ebay on 30. January to appeal and get at least the limit of the first 30 listings free! WHAT KIND OF CON IS EBAY RUNNING HERE ????

well, as i have no access to your account I can only go on what you post. Obviously you do have monthly limit of 10. The only other answer I can think off is that as you were trying to list on Friday, you were just victim of the usual Friday glitches. Have you tried again, today?
Anyway, when I opened a new ID for selling about year ago, every time I listed something there was a message telling me I have limit and to click on the link provided to lift the limit.

You are wrong too: as I sell stamps/banknotes I send them in a normal letter stiffened with cardboard, items on stockcards wrapped in paper and placed in a sealed plastic sleeve to protect from moisture and rain. That kind of packaging is not good enough for paypal by a long shot; even using the various packages/bubble wraps etc bought from Australia Post and wrapping/packing the items with EXTRA cardboard and plastic covers was not good enough to satisfy paypal that the items were packaged appropriately when the buyers claimed "damage" to the package and the items. And I was out of pocket: no items, no payment, and a lot of money spent for packaging and shipping. So it is NOT JUST the extra amount for registration, but also expenses for all the packaging materials and an enormous amount of time for packing - to have any chance with paypal; and then you still have to PROVE that items were packed that way; you probably need to video the whole process, and keep the video until the transaction is really completed with no claims from the buyer.

Are you saying you package your registered items differently from those you send by standard mail?

Well, despite the myriad of answers given to the OP...is it relevant what the OP's listings look like or are about?...the point is, they're spot on about the main issue of this thread..."re selling limit..fraud and false advertising" etc...........seems that way to moi as well...
today..I started listing with a new ID, zero feedback of course...going for the 30 free listings per month as advertised on little banners all over ebay.....and...umm....eez not true!!!
30 free listings per month... That's what the banner says kids....but when you finish and upload the first listing...it says 9 more to go. I only have 10...not 30. Isn't that called lying??
No reason, no explanation, nyada zip...big fat hyped spinola...
Typical though hmmphh... I don't want to do 30 a month anyway as power seller nonsense will ensue rapidly...powerseller not powerseller..ahem. But the point is...again...its just not true. Point me in the direction of the fine print ....is there any?? Am I missing something??

the 30free listings for casual sellers does NOT over ride the selling limits placed on NEW accounts.
if you wanted the full 30 listings a month, you just have to inform ebay of your other ID and as long as it is a sellers a/c in good standing with no violations etc. your monthly limit will be lifted.
I dont understand any seller not wanting to SELL, (i.e. reach the limit where ebay says you are no longer a casual but a full time seller, selling $3,000pa/100 items pa).. if I list i want to SELL not just look for a dollar or 2 savings on listing the items.
