i have a previous buyer selling one of my reborns that was purchased from me back in march this year. she has listed it as a NEW item and date of birth as december 2012 and though she has not claimed to have made it she has presented it in such a way on a template so that it appears she is the artist. i have sent her an email telling her that her listing is fraudulent and that i would report her if she did not remove it or adjust her listing. i intend to do this tomorrow if i do not see any changes or response from her but wanted to know ...does ebay block them if they see that they have posted a dishonest listing. am thinking of naming and shaming her by posting her item number and ebay id here as well as a warning to others?? she paid $350 for her, has had her for 9 months. listed her as new and is asking for $525 on buy it now +$35 postage for a used item. maybe i should be flattered??? lol anyone else had this happen?

You have all said your piece so why not just let it go.
Like them or not is ones choice and if they are used to help others then what a great thing they do for being just a doll.
There is an obvious market for them for collectors or they would not be made or sold.

The OP was given advice but refused to accept it or take it on board, they have continued with their claims that the listing is fraudulent but have failed to state how so.
Just because someone uses a template doesn't mean it is fraudulent.
Yes, I had my income significantly reduced by illegal copying of my craft work, designs and patterns so I have an idea about the problem and if the OP wants to take it further they really need a solicitor specialising in intellectual property.
As the OP cannot show a clear example of any fraud in the listing then I doubt ebay or a solicitor will be able to help her.
I know dolls are collectable, which is fine, but I will not be grouped in with a bunch of loonies, that it was claimed, use these dolls to get over personal tragedies.
Collect them by all means and some will, not doubt, increase in value like all collectables by good crafts-persons and artists.
I don't care whether others say dolls are an art or craft,my opinion is they are mostly craft but a few are works of art.

If you want this to end because it is very tedious then remove the option to be emailed whenever someone posts here. That way you will not get any more emails from ebay letting you know that someone has posted on your thread.
Or you could go back to your opening post on page 1 and choose the option to report abuse and then select the option "self report" from the drop down list. Don't worry self reporting will not get you into trouble.
hope that helps.

thank you i-once-was-bumped. i appreciate the advice. i am new at this as i do not blog. just thought i could save some time and trouble using this route (boy was i wrong...lol) i did not want to report it and only decided to use this blog when she did not respond to my email and thought i could find a solution without involving ebay. i have since notified them with evidence that the listing contains false info (i keep all records of my sales and photos of my art work so sent that through as proof that the item is not in new condition and is not a new item.) i am told they will make a decision and she will be required to modify her auction to reflect true representation of the item or it will be pulled. i did not want to do this and i do not even want her to put my name on it..only that it is not new and done by another artist not herself. i know ebay can be slack in doing anything about it at all but we have to try and keep things as clean and honest as we can. if we don't the system will not work for any of us...anyway, the experience has been rather negative (though there have been some good and helpful post as well) but at least i confirmed in my mind it is better to go to the source, it you can't work it out, go to management and skip all the rest...lololololol hope all you regular 'bloggers' have fun out there, have a happy day! and merry christmas to all...

Carly deserves the right to post as do all of us, she did not cause trouble simply voiced an opinion, please treat her with the same courtesy you would expect to receive. She often joins in the discussions and is a well liked participant who never stirs trouble.

I understand what you are saying OP and I can appreciate the effort and pride that you put into your work.
Even if you weren't so very familiar with a reborn doll (as you are of course with this one as it is one of your own pieces ) you have the eye and the experience to spot the difference between a newly made reborn doll and one that is not (ie;signs of aging and handling etc would be more obvious to you than they are to me) .
Though it isn't likely to happen,If I was starting out collecting reborn dolls I would not be happy pay for and receive a doll that wasn't as stated (especially given the cost involved).Quite simply that's the way it is with anything I buy as I would expect is the case with most people.
As far as her being your work , I can only imagine and try to understand how you as the creator/artist may feel.I think I'd be a bit ticked off if it was me .Maybe as others have suggested signing your dolls may be an idea ?
All the best and Merry Christmas to you and everyone here ๐
