i'm sure a lot or most of you probably received the managed payments email this morning. in case you didn't, or missed here - ebay is rolling out managed payments later in the year with pre-registration opening shortly.
more info is located at https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/managed-payments

I had to do a partial refund today.
There was a 'refund' option in the drop down at the sold item listing.
There were options for full or partial refunds.
The refund amount showed up in my MP transactions a few minutes later.
Just reminded me that I didn't check if partial FVF was refunded.

Let the fun begin.
Payouts ticking over nicely until this morning.
Payouts processed at close to 1am and in my bank ( NAB ) 12 hours later.
I was even up at 1:05am and waited and waited.
This morning no signs of the payout.
Call back wait time 27 minutes.
Perhaps I am not the only one in this boat ๐

It would be sad if I was up just to watch my payments process
but I just happened to be up in this case.
Yes the states + guns could make for a dire scenario.

I'm not sure if this was caused by managed payments or a glitch within that particular system, as this sort of thing has occurred pre-MP, but yesterday I was contacted by a buyer who was asking me if I had received a new order from them or not (apparently placed the day before).
I haven't, but they explained they had gone through the motions of making an order, and the funds have been deducted from their account, but they don't have a record of the order on their side either.
I'm hoping (for them, I suppose) it will ultimately be a declined payment, I had a similar thing happen to me while paying for postage via AP - they couldn't seem to locate my payment, but the money was actually returned to my card anyway.
Thought I'd mention it in case this has occurred to other buyers, and some sellers start receiving "where is my order / give me a refund" type messages, just so you know that the buyer isn't (or at least may not be ) crazy, and can explain since you don't have a record of, or access to, the transaction, you can't send a refund or cancel the payment, so it needs to be taken up with eBay and / or their bank. (I sent my buyer a screenshot showing all transactions that came up under a search for their username, just so they could confirm I haven't received their order or funds).

I had the phantom order happen to me too a couple of months ago. First I knew of the order was when the customer messaged me asking if I had sent it yet as they couldn't find any details on their ebay page. I looked and had no order from them so initially assumed they had mistaken me for another seller. But in the end it turned out they did buy something and the money did come through eventually but there was just no ebay record whatsoever. I sent the item anyway and all was received but it still remains missing from my orders page.
Also the item they bought remained in my active items list. But when I tried to 'end' the listing so no one else would buy it, it just threw up error messages. I had to get a rep on ebay chat to end the listing for me.

Hi, What happens if I don't register? Thanks

All your listings will become invisible or just plain pulled of ebay.
Well that's the 'threat' anyway.
