i'm sure a lot or most of you probably received the managed payments email this morning. in case you didn't, or missed here - ebay is rolling out managed payments later in the year with pre-registration opening shortly.
more info is located at https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/managed-payments

I think for low volume sellers it is just looking too hard.
Everywhere on the boards there are the horror stories, in the grand scheme of things most sellers have transitioned well, but there have been hiccups that would make a smaller seller a bit edgy.
I understand the worry about not getting paid as quickly, and having what feels like little to no control over your own money especially as a periodic seller.
I know alot of people come here and spout about leaving eBay just to vent, but I don't blame the one's that just don't feel comfortable with it for withdrawing if that's what they want.
It is thier decision and I think it is a part of the reason for the changeover - I think eBay are trying to weed out the smaller sellers.

Sorry to harp on, but something else as well.
I just went to buy something - I am in Qld and so was the seller - ETD 8th April Same item in Vic ETD 28/3 so that suggests to me that the Qld seller is waiting for his payment to reach him before he sends.
How many other sellers will be doing this, and in so doing, get defects against thier accounts. Only a very small percentage of users come to these boards to get advice, and I do feel sorry for them.
I think as time goes by things will smooth out, but how many sellers will be damaged before that happens?
Very few buyers know eBay as I do from coming here.

If they've blown out their handling time to make allowances for getting paid,
and then they post within that time frame - there are no defects.
They're just covering theirs rrrrrses

Check the processing time if its not that then its likely because of machine learning eBay uses. eBay now using machine learning to estimate delivery times because Australia Post cannot provide estimates anymore. So if you have high late shipment rate or INR rates you eBay now will automatically extend your delivery timeframe. So Its possible some sellers got hit harder with others with delays due to covid last year.

Totally, and I understand that, but what about the sellers who don't know to do that? The periodic sellers who use
eBay less frequently, not every seller on eBay is an experienced seller.
So buyer pays - seller waits however long for the pmt - send the product (that is if they haven't already had INR opened against them) buyer gets item way late and -
I simply understand why some are just hanging up the keys so to speak

Same kind of scenario when sellers that had to wait for the 21 day hold on their PayPal funds

Well, I bit the bullet and signed up, tried to do it without entering a number first in case that's what "deferred" meant, and after a minute or so of processing it came back and told me I needed to input a valid number, so I put my POA card number in as my ID and it processed that and apparently it decided it was valid? I guess I'm signed up now? I got a message telling me everything was A-OK.
This is confusing and worrying in equal measure.
[EDIT]: I'm in Victoria, for reference.

From what I have read the Victorian POA card is accepted......it is the NSW one that seems to cause problems.
