Hi
I recently sold 2 brass horns both marked as pick up only and specifically wrote in the description as well pick up only, and the suburb of pick up.
One sale went very smoothly with the person coming from the other side of the city and promptly picking up the item no probs.
The other I received a paypal payment, to which I emailed back stating did they know they had no protection from paypal for a pick up item, but not to worry gave them my mobile number to arrange a time for them to pick up.
I heard nothing for a few days, so emailed them today asking if they could give me a time frame for pick up...they emailed straight back giving me their address and saying they would pick it up from their post office??
I emailed back again restating its pick up only, and if they are unable to pick it up then I can refund there payment and mutually end the transaction - is there anything else I can do?Ive taken snap shots of the listing to see if there is something that went wrong saying postage, but all says local pick up only - no post...what am I missing? It did finish friday afternoon if that could mean something??
I have worked hard to maintain my 100% feedback and I it concerns me it potentially is ruined over someone not reading the listing or emailing me prior to ask (and the answer would be no post)
thanks for any advice

Hi that's really interesting that you can see that, as whenever I go into either of the listings it says no postage local pick up only??? Maybe that's where he got the idea from. However it also says everywhere else its pick up only and where the pick up is from, I suppose I'm quite shocked that another seasoned ebayer would think that it was to be posted - despite all the information stating not, and not even email me to clarify it?
I have refunded his paypal payment, apologised but reiterate that it was a pick up item.
Thank you everyone for your replies, i shall wait and see

Re: the postage options displayed, I just did a mock listing to test out the postage options and I think I know why that happens.
When you set up the postage options for a listing, you can change the dropdown menu to No Postage: Local pick-up only and that removes all the options for postage. Strangely, if you just tick the Local pick-up option instead, and leave the dropdown menu at Flat: Same cost to everyone, you don't actually have to select a postage service and price, but if you do it that way it seems to display Free Postage in the search results, and only specifies local pick-up when you go into the listing.

Yes, I just did a Completed Listings search and the horn that ended on the 26th April shows as Free Postage in the search results and Local Pickup in the listing. The other two showed as Pickup Only: Free in the search results.

Digital - yes it totally depends on how the listing has been set up and it has been like this since ebay introduced the free post logo.
The listing process is very confusing for sellers if they are unaware of the correct way to list for pick up only.

I would not worry about your FB, if the buyer leaves NEG eBay will almost certainly remove it if you call them and explain that the buyer has bid on "pick up only" item and without asking first wanted it to be posted. Refund the payment and then ask them if they will accept mutual cancellation; do not send one unless they acknowledge your message and promise to agree (you only have so many per year). Should they not do as promised, call eBay and they should give you your FVF back anyway.
I just wanted to clarify this post (the bold is mine)
There is no limit to the mutual cancellations that can be done to end a sale. I think you may be getting confused with the feedback revision requests, which are limited in each 12 month period.

Normally, the reason not to send 'mutual cancellation request' is that once you send it , you cannot open NPB, which here is not relevant
