It definitely seems to be a buyers market for stock at the moment. Since my last post on this thread I,m still finding more cheap stock than I know what to do with. ( and I,m not looking for it ). Probably the most remarkable was yesterday, I took the missus to a sleepy Murray river town that services the tourist trade.
An antique shop had shelves full of the stuff I sell on ebay. All high end, fast sellers. I made enquiries with the owner and he agreed to give me a good price if I purchased a bulk lot. A couple of box fulls later I offered him 20% of the price I would sell it for on ebay. He couldn't get the money into his hands quick enough. With COVID, I,m sure the tourist trade has taken a hit, but when you can buy box fulls of stock from retail stores for 20% of ebay value, you know some strange things are happening.
When ebay sales are slow, stock is dirt cheap, so there is still a good profit opportunity there.

Our sales are on average with last year which is a little surprising considering over our two accounts we have listed another 100% or thereabouts volume on top of what we previously had this time last year.
Sales a couple of months ago were better though, having said that this is the week when it all starts to take off for Xmas so we shall see what happens but this week will be a good yardstick as to where we are headed in 2020.

My sales have dropped quite a bit lately, and I was wondering if it might be because I have not joined ebay plus? I suspect that my stock has been dropped way down the list although I have a 100% feedback with close to a 1000 feedbacks. Does anyone know if this is really possible, as I don't believe that it is anything to do with covid, border closures and the like

Mine have dropped to pre-COVID levels.
I suspect it's a combination of less income (due to jobkeeper and jobseeker payments having been reduced), the freedom to buy and go elsewhere after months of lockdown and that my items aren't generally things that people would buy for Christmas.
Probably the same with you.
If you don't think any of the above would have an impact, that's your belief.
