i have never been so furious at a website in my life.
the seller has bought AND payed for the item, yet i cannot access it because EBAY and PAYPAL are holding my money for no good reason! i have sold three items recently and have had to message the buyers saying that i cannot SHIP their item BECAUSE I HAVE NOT GOT THE MONEY TO DO SO.
i dont get who the hell started this STUPID policy, but i expect you to change it immediately. it has to be illegal taking people's rightful money and keepinging it for yourself.
ebay epects me to sell another 19 items before they can 'trust' me enough to give me my money. I DONT HAVE 19 THINGS TO SELL!
i expect these payments, summing up to around 130$ to be released immediatley or i will not sell on ebay every again.

if the item was something i really needed i would wait.. or simply do as the seller asks.. re send via a money request.
as a buyer i would not exspect a seller to ship until cleared funds are availible and cleared means you have acces to funds which in this case the seller does not have for 21 days and for those 21 days the buyer can make up any **bleep** excuse and get their money back and seller loses item and postage..what..you don't think a seller has the right not to ship until they are paid, that is the question.
do you exspect a seller to give you ownership of goods without being able to have access to funds when those funds can be taken away at a drop of a hat for those 21 days.

If a member is just starting up with selling, or has returned to selling after a break from doing it, they should be fully aware of the hold on funds until they can show by tracking that the item was delivered and/or feedback from the buyer is positive for the transaction.
The buyer has paid in good faith, and despite the hold on funds in the seller's account, the seller has absolutely no reason to not post until funds are cleared. They the seller if they do hold the item, they are very likely to get a dispute opened against them for non-delivery within the ETA and/or a neg from a disgruntled buyer.
The majority of buyers would probably not be aware of the 21 day hold for new sellers in the first place, in their eyes (and rightly so) they have paid and would expect their items to be posted within the sellers handling time.
At the end of the day those sellers have agreed to eBay's policies for new members, whether they have read them or not.

so u are basically saying a seller in this situation has no rights?
if a seller emails the buyer and tells them what is happening and that they give the option to the buyer to wait or proceed with a paypal payment the seller is in breach of nothing!!
no fraud, they are not lieing '
you also admit that the funds are on hold and the definition of hold is not the same as cleared in the way of funds and when you think ebay them selves say the sellers only responisbility is to post within 2 days of clreared funds ,their policy.
so forcing a seller to send item while funds are on hold is an example of ebay not following their own policy.

I would suggest that if your blinkered approach to eBay's policies for new selling members is such that you can't see what your problem is, then go ahead and sell your Jackon "Style" guitar necks etc but don't send them until your funds are released - or try to sell by bank deposit / insist the buyer pays you direct through Paypal.
But please don't come back here complaining when your selling account gets shut down after the negs start rolling in.

actually i do have the last laugh as i have already spoken to a ebay supervisor over the phone and he relunctsnly said i was right and there is nothing they can do.
so to ad you agree that held funds are the same as cleared funds right?

Really? Did the supervisor also tell you that there would be no penalty if you start to get more negs and your selling account goes "below standard" ?

In the buyers eyes the money has been transferred from their account to your account and is thus cleared to your account, it's irrelevant that because you're a new seller you have a 21 day hold on your funds - or until you can show successful delivery by tracking and/or positive feedback from the buyer.
Here's eBay's definition of "cleared payment" it's in the first paragraph of the link on handling time.

the handling time is the number of business days the seller will take to send the item after receiving your cleared payment. A payment is considered "cleared" after the money from the buyer has been deposited into the seller’s account. If the buyer pays by PayPal, the payment may clear immediately.
held payments are not cleared
that is your reason lol
read it it.. it says paypal paymenys maybe cleared immediately!!!
held payments are not cleared not availible to the seller.
cleared payments in policy... seller is allowed to wait until payment is cleared before postage
Cleared payment – If you're using a payment method such as a bank transfer, where the money isn't available to the seller immediately, the seller may wait until the payment is in their account before they send your item
so you think that a payment that is held and not availible to the seller to use is the same as a clearded payment where the seller has access to the funds,
held payments in paypal are the same as a bank transfer and not availble to seller until paypal and ebay clear them.

it's kinda ok..
my theory seems more plausible as you consider hold and cleared are the same thing just saying.

With all your buying and selling experience on ebay I am sure you know all the rules and regulations.
Just go your own sweet way and we will see how long you last.
