I've never been to the Olinda one, sounds like fun, peed off that I missed out on the Balnarring one, oh well, did all right out of the Foster one.

Has anyone done the Showgrounds sale in Melbourne, meant to be books from 50c, not sure if it's a joke or not as these highly telivised sales turn out to be. Don't want to go all that way and only spend $10.

If you google Dirt Cheap Books Melbourne Showgrounds you'll see its just them (as I suspected).

Thanks so much for that, seems I'd be better off just going to the little sale in Tooradin with the $2.95 books, need some more paranormal books.

staying away from booksales-trying to clear some stock
remember
"the age gets the classified and you get the results" ?
am amazed how much the classifieds section of The Age have shrunk but I did well yesterday and the adx4 has been paid for already
though I never look at them either!

Re: Book Fairs, Library Sales - Dates & Times

The Book Cellar's inaugural book clearance last Sat was an unqualified success!

Weather fabulous for the middle of Tassie this time of year - sunny, clear, almost warm ๐Ÿ™‚ Bit damp underfoot but at least we didn't need to relocate indoors. Had over 300 people, probably closer to 400, so a steadily busy day - many only learning about the shop for the first time... it is a bit hidden. Lots of good feedback from the locals since then too, and they are hard to impress.

Plan to do it again on our next long weekend, which for north Tassie is first weekend in Nov (Recreation Day!) Will do a few things differently... e.g. take the time to re-sort books into more categories rather than just fiction, NF and kids. And ditch the majority of self-help that seems to be attached to every lot of books we acquire - they are like weeds, springing up everywhere, and nobody wants them.
